Is your partner still washing?

My husband seems to think the government has banned washing during lockdown. Because he's not going out he doesn't see the need to shower - he's probably doing it every 4-5 days and I really have to nag him to do it. He's wearing the same clothes for that whole period too Confused I won't let him sleep in the bed unless he's washed so he's sleeping in the spare room as all he wants to do is play video games in there and sleep.

Is this a man thing? I don't want him near me as I keep thinking about how dirty he is!

My dh!!!
2 weeks was his record and I had to start stranded further away. Stinky bastard Envy

I’m still having to remind him to wash and change his clothes every week.

It’s definitely not a man thing! My dh showers every single day, as do I !!!

Jesus. DP is still showing or bathing every day because he's not gross.

It's not "a man thing".

That's revolting. So disrespectful to you.

That’s pretty gross. DP is fastidious and showers every morning and again at night if he’s exercised. He rarely ever wears the same top two days running. 4-5 days is just minging (and I’m not one of the MN clean freak brigade).

I also think in lockdown it’s good for mental health to get up, showered and dressed in decent clothes every day, even if you do nothing else.

Ugh. No, plenty of showering here, as is the law in our house

That’s grim. Don’t write it off as an man thing’, it really isn’t one.

Is he depressed if he’s shut away all day and not washing, or is this normal?

MoonBaby1 · 08/05/2020 20:24

tutorwoes thankyou! I find it really disrespectful especially as he’s still after regular nookie.

Report
catsears1 · 08/05/2020 20:24

He's not depressed, just lazy and sees it as a chore.

I'm still washing every day so I'm finding it hard to live with

We're maybe showering slightly less often as we're not getting as dirty I don't think. But that's every other day instead of every day level, not weeks at a time, although dh might prefer to go longer if me and the kids weren't here. But we are, so he washes.

What time does he get up? Is lack of routine making him lazy?

Eww! Not a ‘man thing’ as my DH showers every day.

Report
Candyfloss99 · 08/05/2020 20:34

The only person you remind to shower is a child.

DH is working but even on days off he always has a shower morning and night. Clean clothes daily, unless jeans which can go for 2/3 days. I love how he smells Wink.

I‘d seriously have to LTB in your situation OP!

Holy shit, this is not a man thing or a lockdown thing. It's just a gross, lazy, selfish, disgusting thing.

Not a man thing, a filthy pig thing. That is absolutely disgusting. Does he not care about how you feel at all? This can't possibly be his only selfish behaviour.
