Tell me about when you met the right one, or if you didn’t? Can’t see it ever happening

I can’t imagine ever meeting the right one. I’m now mid thirties and with lockdown I’ve been dwelling on it.

Tell me of your nice ending?

He walked into the pub I knew him vaguely but not well and he looked at me I looked at him and I just knew. He moved in 3 weeks later we got married 2 years later 10 years ago. The difference was in me I did a lot of souk searching in the year before we got together as to why I was mid forties and single.

Well I looked in a couple of souks but it was mainly soul searching.....

I met mine when I had totally had enough of dating! I had dated my fair share of idiots over the years and really wasn’t interested anymore. When I met him we both had really busy social lives/hobbies and didn’t see each other a huge amount, then over time we just started making more of an effort...
It sounds cheesy but when you are happy with yourself, you’re more likely to meet the right person. You will stop ‘settling’ for the wrong people and find Mr right.

First time I met her I knew she'd be trouble of the nice kind if I saw her again. Now we're XX years down the line and still perfectly happy.

Many many millions of people meet a partner in their 30s with whom they are happy. It's normal to meet someone, particular in one's 30s. Prime dating and coupling up age. There is nothing to be afraid of, really.

I think I recognise you OP, do you have anyone IRL to talk to? You've started so many threads along the same lines. I'm concerned about you.

Have you seen your GP regarding your anxiety/obsessive thoughts? You probably would feel a lot better if you got onto a medication and started some counselling. Posting on here for reassurance will make your anxious thoughts worse over time. Please please please talk to a medical professional.

I'm sorry that you are suffering x

I'm late 30's and have pretty much given up. Last proper relationship was 10 years ago which is very depressing. Have had a few dalliances since but they've never progressed into anything, or significant exes still on the scene, some I've no idea why they didn't progress.

I honestly think lasting love is down to sheer luck (this makes me feel better) and I'm just not lucky in this area. I want to remain optimistic but....Confused

Turned out he was the nice, kind colleague I'd been working with for about 2 years. We went for a drink after he split from his girlfriend. I'd been single for 7 years. Was supposed to be platonic.

He was very different out of work and the banter flowed. We kissed and he was transformed in my eyes. I discovered my kind colleague was a great kisser and sexy. The chemistry was instant for me. Still great 6 years on.

Who knew! He was right next to me in my office. He was actually on my interview panel that appointed me.

You're young plenty of time.
