Oh I would LOVE a christmas wedding!

kitsandbits Mon 03-Sep-07 09:18:29

Hi

thats sorted,

the budget for the hall was £500

100 people will be invited

we will cater for 80,

plus £50 for doorman and £90 liscensing fee = £506!

DJ is goingt to be my dads best mates girlfriend for free!

and bar will be BYO.

Balloons will be done by my family in the morning,£50 for 100 ballooons + 2 x helium canisters on ebay.

Not bothering with flowers in the hall.

Just a few boquets made by us.

You can have mulled wine to warm the guests - and carols as hymns-
what a lovely time of the year to marry

kitsandbits Mon 03-Sep-07 09:24:23

Yea I guess it will be nice,

still a bit miffed though! Christmas is busy enough without this! :S

GreatAuntieWurly Mon 03-Sep-07 09:30:18

thats fab news.

kitsandbits Mon 03-Sep-07 09:35:33

Yea, my mums ringing our original hotel now to see if we can get any deposit back,

I dont hold much hope though

tiredemma Mon 03-Sep-07 09:36:34

are you still getting married in church- or having civil ceremony at the hall?

kitsandbits Mon 03-Sep-07 09:37:54

Church,

it wont cost much more - just £60 'donation'

We wont bother with flowers as Im pretty sure with it being Dec 22nd there will be deccies up!

and no 'organist' just CD player i think! lol

stoppinattwo Mon 03-Sep-07 09:38:54

and you have a pink dress on its way grin...........once I have been to the post office

BreeVanDerCampLGJ Mon 03-Sep-07 09:39:51

So how did you get the old bat to hand over the money. ??

purpleflower Mon 03-Sep-07 09:39:53

Congratulations

can I just ask though how did you get the church that cheap? Just booked the church and its going to cost us about £500!

kitsandbits Mon 03-Sep-07 09:41:07

I dunno, my MIL booked the church and the priest just asks for a £60 donation.

We arent having any decorations or anything.

Nbg Mon 03-Sep-07 09:42:10

Oh it will be soo lovely!

Hectic of course but so lovely.

kitsandbits Mon 03-Sep-07 09:42:29

I emailed her Bree and asked and she arranged for HER father to give us the money on her behalf.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ Mon 03-Sep-07 09:43:25

IIRC Kits is Catholic, most Catholic churches that I know of do not ask for large sums of money.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ Mon 03-Sep-07 09:44:09

Phew

Just make sure you never, ever, lend her money again.

tiredemma Mon 03-Sep-07 09:44:17

Oh thats lovely- hectic- but it will be lovely.

Nbg Mon 03-Sep-07 09:45:52

When dh and I booked the church for our wedding, all we were asked for was a donation.
That was Catholic.

kitsandbits Mon 03-Sep-07 09:46:37

Yup, Catholic here too,

I think I might have to pay to have the heating on too as its December, lol

purpleflower Mon 03-Sep-07 09:49:24

Thats brilliant. I'm C of E. I just couldn't believe how expensive it is.

Anyway sorry to hijack a bit there.

Once again a big congratulations, I'm sure it will all be perfect smile

kitsandbits Mon 03-Sep-07 10:10:49

Lol, No worries.

My only concern is the photos,

I mean its going to be Dark at 3.30!

I wanted a late wedding to avoid the reception, but looks like it will ahve to be about 2 ish - meaning were going to be in limbo for a bit as party starts at 7pm

CountessDraculaPI Mon 03-Sep-07 10:11:34

OMG
you got the tit job cash back?!
