Relationships

Does he want to be with me?

Met a guy on OLD six months ago, due to his family commitments, poorly parent and me having a child we hardly get to see each other. At the most once a week sometimes not even that. Some days he can text loads others I hardly hear from him. Due to anxiety's from a previous failed relationship this really messes with my head.

Loads of times we've had to make plans but he's had to cancel with their being no one to look after the his parent but sometimes I feel he uses this an excuse. I guess I just don't trust anyone.

When we're together I couldn't ask for more. He's loving, caring and great company it's just when we're not together I worry.

I've asked him so many times if he still wants to be a relationship with me and if he didn't would he tell me and he always says yes.

My question is would a man carry on despite me really giving him so many chances to get out? Am I wasting my time? xx

I would suggest to you that his poorly parent is a wife.

It's definitely his parent as I've seen them. His sisters has also rang him while he's been with me to talk about the parent and I've heard their conversation xx

It is really hard. I'm in a similar situation - met someone on OLD, can only see them about once a week. I think if there's been some progression in the relationship, ie you've gone from holding hands to kissing to sleeping together, plus you've got to know them much better etc (so not just about sex) then it's ok. I'm only three months in, but I wonder the same thing. I don't really know where these relationships go either - presumably at some point there would need to be more commitment, can't have years of seeing someone weekly?!

It is so hard. I know deep down I want more than he can give me. Guess it's time to make decisions xx

No. He doesn't. If you need to ask that is always the answer.

I think you need to look at his situation and assess whether he genuinely can't see you more. People with full time jobs, kids, a sick parent in his case, etc etc may genuinely struggle to see a gf/bf more. If you believe he's sincere and not just stringing you along, then you need to decide whether you like him enough to continue. Good luck!
