So my friend met this man went on one date with him but he keeps sending her money! So far he's transferred her £200 for her birthday and £700 today! He sent her flowers on valentines day and chocolates which cost over £100. Can't help but feel a little jealous! She hasn't slept with him and he doesn't live in the country so not like he's expecting sex as he only comes for visits (has friends/family here) would you accept the gifts?? I can't help but wonder whats in it for him. (They talk on whatsapp)

I’d not be envious in least.id be thinking he’s batshit/crim/Money laundering
Sorry you get owt for nowt,there a catch.physical,mental or emotional,there a catch

WonderWhippet Sat 17-Feb-18 21:10:30

Is it simply a Sugar daddy type arrangement?

ThisLittleKitty Sat 17-Feb-18 21:11:00

I keep thinking there must be a catch but so far doesn't seem to be.

OurMiracle1106 Sat 17-Feb-18 21:11:03

I’d Be highly suspicious tbh.

There’s going to be a catch. After 1 date I wouldn’t even expect a message on valentines to say happy valentines let alone money flowers chocolates etc.

I’d RUN as fast as I could

ThisLittleKitty Sat 17-Feb-18 21:11:54

Hmm yeh thinking about it he must be as she's just turned 30 and he's in his 50s.

niceupthedance Sat 17-Feb-18 21:11:58

Is he a money pig? (Google it)

LipstickHandbagCoffee Sat 17-Feb-18 21:20:24

Why’s a 50something ol guy sniffing around a 30something female
Hooky

ThisLittleKitty Sat 17-Feb-18 21:24:54

Hmm yeh I suppose it's easy to see it as tempting (when your very broke like me) but it is abit creepy. She recently broke her phone and got an iphone 6 on contract (she asked for the cheapest one.) when she told him he told her there was no way she was going to have a 6 and that he was going to get her the iphone x. More money than sense.

ThisLittleKitty Sat 17-Feb-18 21:26:56

Just googled money pig. Sounds spot on.

BeHappyMummy Sat 17-Feb-18 21:30:25

If it's a money pig then there's no sex involved right?

Going to start researching. I need one.

LipstickHandbagCoffee Sat 17-Feb-18 21:56:37

I maintain owt for nowt,so whilst the catch or expectation isn’t immediate.there is one
Otherwise if this 50yo is philanthropic, kind and altruistic the recipient wouldn’t need to be 30yo female

ThisLittleKitty Sat 17-Feb-18 22:31:06

I need one aswell! I said that to her could seriously do with one of him.

userxx Sat 17-Feb-18 23:25:14

But would you really take money and gifts of a random? I just find the whole idea so fucking cringe.

ThisLittleKitty Sat 17-Feb-18 23:37:48

Yeh if there was no catch.

LipstickHandbagCoffee Sat 17-Feb-18 23:41:05

Catch so there’s always a catch, but if you’re willing to ho it ask your mate for tips

ThisLittleKitty Sat 17-Feb-18 23:43:33

Well she hasn't slept with him so can't see what the catch is. She met him in a club and I reckon she was lucky as there won't be many men like him hanging out.

userxx Sat 17-Feb-18 23:48:03

Ewwwwe. No chance. I make my own money thanks, no need for charity handouts.

LipstickHandbagCoffee Sat 17-Feb-18 23:54:32

Genuinely, do you think this is ok?older guy, cash transactions, big materialistic gesture
despite not really knowing each other.its really not the usual path of relationships
And the age gap?unless you both have an older affluent guy thing
Out of interest are older men her thing,or only affluent older guys?

LittleMe03 Sun 18-Feb-18 00:01:01

Agree with PP. would rather make my own money.

ThisLittleKitty Sun 18-Feb-18 00:16:19

She does make her own money she has a very high paying job she's far from broke (unlike me which is why I said it was tempting.) she certainly isn't looking for a relationship with him. I think they just talk on whatsapp and he sends her money. She doesn't generally go for older guys but she wouldn't date a man who didn't have a lot of money.

AndTheBandPlayedOn Sun 18-Feb-18 00:23:04

So she gave her bank details to a stranger? Nope. Identity theft may be around the corner for her.

ThisLittleKitty Sun 18-Feb-18 00:29:33

Think it's just her pay pal.

LittleMe03 Sun 18-Feb-18 00:39:35

If it sounds too good to be true i( usually is....
