If your DP/DH fell in love with someone else, would you let him go?

No judging please! I think there's a thread where I explain about my affair. But in a nutshell, I met him (he technically looked for me)... We realised we were everything we've always wanted in a partner, fell in love, decided to try as best as we could a way to be together without causing too much pain. Our marriages were already in the rocks (I asked for divorce a week after meeting him, there's overlap but he's unrelated to my marriage breakdown, even my STBXH knows about the affair and now accepts it and wishes me the best). For him is hasn't been as easy, it's Christmas, (I'm Jewish so not a big deal for me), his wife is sick and has been in and out of hospital. His wife also already knows he has a thing for me.. he's clearly emotionally detached from her. he basically sees her as a roommate and nothing else, which is sad in its own way as she clearly doesn't feel the same. All of her profile pictures on SM are of them together. This truly breaks my heart and I hate causing so much pain. He's tried to leave her (it was a massive drama last week) but because of the season and her health issues he's stayed for now. I'm happy to give him as long as he needs, we live in a small town and I'm sure of how bad it can go. I would never tell her, but if she read even 10% of our messages I know it would break her heart. So here I am feeling miserable for something I'm 50% responsible of and knowing that my future happiness is based on someone's pain. My STBXH was also in pain or course, and he still is .. but once I explained everything to him, he understood why I was chancing it, but he's one of a kind and I'm sure she won't react the same way.
