It sounds like it is something that had to happen and I suspect is long overdue. There are always people here to listen, if you need it. Good luck!

Yes it did need to happen. It was never because I didn't love him. I wanted this to work so much. And iv gone through hell trying to hang onto it. Iv gone through that much pain and heart ache and still forgiven him and stayed. But I don't like what I see in the mirror anymore. A beat up tired person with no joy inside. It's killed me to say good bye but I worry where I will end up if I don't save myself.

Any advice on moving forward

What were your reasons for doing it by text?

hellsbellsmelons Wed 08-Nov-17 13:37:52

It will take time.
You need to give yourself time.
It won't happen overnight.
You can't just 'move forward'
All you can do for now is take things one day at a time.
I'm assuming you don't live together?
Sounds like you've put up with a lot and forgiven a lot.
Time for YOU now.
Time to look after YOURSELF and your DC.
Time to cut out the dead weight hanging around your neck.
Well done - now stay strong.
If you wobble come on here and rant away.
You KNOW you deserve better
You KNOW your DC deserves better!

I don't agree with doing such things by text. But he works away he wasn't calling. I never know when to call. And he prob wouldn't listen just cut me off .So got it off my chest in a text to get it all out without drama

Missing him tonight. Feeling sad

user1499288566 Thu 09-Nov-17 18:40:17

Anyone who feels same

pog100 Thu 09-Nov-17 18:44:51

I would join in on one of the other threads here which deal with such things. I don't think your title, and lack of detail, is getting much attention. Which is a shame because you sound really sad, but definitely doing the right thing.

Do you think it's safe to say that if you haven't got it together and settled after 5 years it will never happen?
