Workplace banter or is he into me?

Basically a few months back a new manager started at my work place, he frequently compliments me, says he likes me bla bla bla but he is my boss! We are both single, he is recently divorced.
I'm just finding it hard why he's clung on to me, I'm nothing special, but he never asks me out or anything but he's getting into my head... wwud?

He needs to read the papers and learn about inappropriate conduct with people he has a corporate responsibility for.

Honestly?

Give him a wide berth. No matter how much you think he is different, he isn't. He's just a sleazy man who knows that what he is doing is inappropriate and an abuse of his position of authority over you.

Do not engage.

FWIW, if he were really interested, he would have spoken to you about this properly and not relied on anbiguous banter.

This is what I've been thinking, I've even told him some of his comments are inappropriate but he just laughs it off.
I'll not engage, to be honest he comes across as a player. When I asked him if he was married as I assumed he was he replied no divorced twice...

Start seeing him as the sleazy pillock that he is. You should go off him then.

Sounds like your more into him than he is of you, you need to see he is your manager and this is out of order

No not at all! I don't comment or give him any reason to think I'm in to him even with all his advances

You've told him he's inappropriate and he laughs it off? Are you often attracted to men who disregard your boundaries? Generally that doesn't lead to anything good

I have low self esteem after years of abuse so don't think much of myself but yeah I agree nothing good will come from this..
I deleted the account I made this op with so that's why names different..
