I'm just looking for a little advise, me and my boyfriend are currently pregnant. Due April 18, he is an Indian national and will be returning to India in 2/3 weeks.
My boyfriend will be out of the UK when the baby is born + when time to register, I have been looking online about putting him on the birth certificate whilst he's not there.
I come across a statutory declaration form on GOV.co.uk, this states if he declares the baby is his he can be put on the certificate without him being there.
Has any of you ladies done this before? Do we have to go to court or do any tests before it can be declared?
It also asks for details of the babies birth, but obviously it is still unborn before he leaves, could he sign these details from India?
If he is unable to be named on the certificate what will appear under the fathers name?
Just searching some answers!
