Do you know What? That's it for me relationship wise. Today I made the pledge of singledom, I'm just going to condition my mind to being single and stick to it. Relationship are such a big, useless headache. It makes you stupid, weak and dependent, So what's the point?!!!
You can be perfectly happy and SINGLE! It's not going to be easy, It will take time to suppress all these baby cravings etc, but I will get there. In fact as I was driving back home earlier, I was thinking of how I need to set myself a new project, something meaningful, that's going to keep me busy and make me forget about relationships..not sure what I expect from you all, but rants over smile oh I know, any ideas for my project?

Totally agree.
And the thought of dating after nearly 20 years... Just no.

I'm about to start studying, and have been looking for things I used to enjoy when single a hundred years ago

I dont have the capital but would like to do low-intensity property renovation, maybe something like that?

What is your dream? Or something you've dreamt of? Where do you want to be in your life (not relationships) but in an achievement sense in say 5 years?

Start with that and work backwards: -
If it is speak a language fluently, book yourself onto a beginners course.
If it is have a perfectly decorated home and you need to save money to afford that, start a saving plan + economy drive.

If it is get a new job in a new sector, start scouting for contacts of contacts.

and so on.

Think of your ultimate goals and break it down into "how can I be there in 1/2/3/4/5 years time"

Well, they only make you stupid, weak and dependant if you are in a relationship with the wrong person, surely? If you are in a relationship with the right person it can be very helpful in all sorts of ways (and some might argue you are stronger as a result). You certainly should leave any relationship where you feel uncomfortable for any of those reasons though.
Both single and coupled-up women can be strong, resilient, powerful and in charge of their own destiny. If you are finding yourself in a pattern where you keep finding yourself in a subservient and weaker position, though, being single is an infinitely better choice.
