Hi new to all this being in a relationship as I've been alone for a long time. Met a new guy recently get on really well text every day and have met up a few times. How much contact is normal? We both work busy schedules and I've kids he doesn't.... we live quite near to each other. Really like spending time with him but don't want to be over eager either.

Text once or twice a day.
Meet up when you can.
Maybe once or twice a week.
Is that doable?

Whatever feels comfortable for you op.

There is no 'normal'.

When my DP and I met we were long distance for a good while and texted back and forth on and off all day. We saw each other fortnightly or once a week if we were lucky.

This felt natural to us though , for other couples this may be too much!

We text quite a lot each day from both sides. It's seems very natural for us and I know I'm overthinking... I should just enjoy and go with the flow

Ha! Indeed , it's so easy to overthink when you feel you're onto a good thing.

I spent the first few months of my relationship with dp wondering if we were doing it all wrong because my past 'relationships' were so bloody dysfunctional! It took us both a while to get over the novelty of a normal happy relationship , which amuses us greatly still :-)
