My partner and I broke up nearly 2 months ago for a few reasons but mostly I think because she had pcos and we had been trying for a child for nearly 6 months it was hurting us both and I was trying to remain strong for her and I really want to be a dad I went to the consultations with her. I would have given anything in the world for her at that time and still would , we have kept in contact regularly since , a few phone calls , we have gone out for 2 meals. We had just bought a house together but I got depressed for a month but pulled myself out of it. She under went an operation recently so I got her a few bits to make her recovery easier and had flowers delivered to her when she was in bed but I didn’t think she would want to see me . I have sorted a lot out in my life since we broke up and gone for a few interviews as my job was a bone of contention but I had not had any luck in a job search when we were together despite searching. She asked me to let her know how it went. The reason I have come here is for any advice as I think there is still a chance for us. Can anyone suggest my next action ? as I haven’t given up yet and don’t intend to as she is worth any effort from me.

I have PCOS, I also have two beautiful children despite a raft of medical complications. It wasn't easy to sort out but Metformin helped to control the metabolic issues, I took Clomid to get pregnant with my second child, and there were miscarriages along the way. This is not a reproductive disorder, it is a metabolic condition that is best controlled through lower BMI, good diet, medication and the input of a metabolic consultant.

It sounds like you are both communicating, and you are trying to be supportive. No one can tell you how to be together as a couple, but I suggest that you give her some space. If she gets the PCOS under control then she may feel better about herself, and then start to focus upon what she wants in life...and that may, or may not include you. To be honest, at its worst PCOS made me very fat, hairy, spotty, terrible pain and mood swings, with doctors saying I would never have kids...under control I am now slim, calmer and feeling happier so it obviously has a big impact. In my case, a low carb diet made me drop 30% of my body weight and Metformin helped with that, and with conception. Not sure if that is an issue for your girl, but a lifestyle review may help her in the long run.

Thanks for your response and insight , I went and saw her sunday night and things went well we opened up about how we were feeling and It seems i had shown her that I was still there for her when we were split . it seems that my parents are a bigger issue than I thought , I stood up to them after some problems of them not lending us money for a house deposit they said they would and choose I her over them as there is no other choice but she thinks we cant have children together because of my family does anyone have any advice on this ?
