Could they be old condoms from previous relationship?

Dp and I been together 2 years.
We don't use condoms for normal PIV sex.
We occasionally will use condom for anal, but rarely.

I've recently given birth and we decided to have sex, it's before my 6 week check up so decided to use a condom.

I assumed that the condom used was one of the ones we keep for anal. We have a specific brand and type so when I sort that the condom he used wasn't one of these I questioned it.

He said he couldn't remember where it came from, but there were only 2 of them.

I looked at the packet and couldn't see any date on it so assumed it was an old one that he had left over from his ex.

But if that's the case why didn't he just say so?

Also how long should the shelf life of condoms be? If he did use an old left over one it's at least 2.5 years old.

Do you live together? You would have seen them before I would have thought if you share a home.

Sounds a bit suspicious to me

No idea but it's very easy to jump to conclusions, I found one in an old sponge bag a while ago that was definitely at least 10 years old and I had completely forgotten about it... If you don't use them often it's possible there are random old ones about.

Check the date on the last one. .

Have you still got the packet? Check the date. If they're old they need to be thrown out.

Which brand are they? Both foil and carton should have an expiry date on if they were sold in this country. Can you look again?

They last about 5 years so might be from his previous relationship.

Is it possible they were bought abroad? Has he been out of the country on his own? Other countries might not require an expiration date - don't know.

Check the expiry date? For reference we have some which were probably bought a couple of years ago and the expiry is 2018.

Where was the condom kept?

OP has said she can't see an expiry date on them.

That's why I wondered if they had been purchased abroad somewhere. And that could have been years ago of course.

If they are a brand you don't recognise, you could google it and see where they are sold. Might give you an idea of where they were purchased.

They could very easily be. Unless it's in conjunction with other behaviours then I wouldn't read anything into it.

He's not been abroad.

I think it might have had an expiration date on at some point but possible old that it's rubbed off.

He took it out from under the bed. No packet.

We recently moved house so it's possibly some old ones he found in the love maybe?

If the date has rubbed off then they could easily be ancient.

Chuck them out and forget about it.

I'm always finding them in my bedroom! Especially when I move things around. I wouldn't read into it either

If they were in your bedroom they're probably fine! I don't think he'd manage to sneak anyone home as you've probably been home loads with a new baby. Date rubbing off says to me you really shouldn't be using them at all thought

Ok thanks. Makes sense!

Just strange he didn't just say they were old ones
