Boyfriend put kettle in the dishwasher

I am really starting to think he is actually stupid, he then watched me plug it in without telling me what he had done, it was only when it blew a fuse in the kitchen did he mention he had put it in the dishwasher for a cycle as it was dirty 🙁
We have now had a massive row as he still couldn't understand why I was upset.

Wow, even kids know not to do this. Is he NT, or does he have some learning difficulties?

Why stop at the kettle? Crumbs in the toaster - in it goes. Baked beans in the microwave - shove that in too, why not?!

Well your house will be burnt down before long.
Imagine him in charge of a child!
Get rid of him.

😂 Bless him for trying!

Either he is mentally impaired or he attempted to murder you and looked for an excuse when it didn't work.

That, or he wants to be banned from the kitchen so he doesn't have to do any work.

All three possible reasons are cause to end the relationship.

I couldn't be with someone who is actually that stupid.

We have a child! In all seriousness I am concerned his level of understanding of certain things is challenged.

Is he under a serious amount of stress or on medication that causes confusion?

Report
VestalVirgin · 27/06/2017 19:49

Does he have a job? Is he that obtuse in other contexts?

I am shocked you didn't find out he was so stupid before having a child together. He must have hidden it well.

That, or, as I said, he pretends incompetence to get out of having to do his share of work.

Um....wow. That is pretty stupid.

Hard to know what to say here. Is this unusual behaviour?

That's beyond stupid.

I was going to say he is a man child but I don't know any children who are that stupid.

He has done some really stupid stuff before but this is the worst, but what's upsetting/worrying me most is that he doesn't see how big a mistake it was.

It's sort of laughable but something seriously bad could have happened so it's worrying he doesn't see that.

Is it one with the plug attached to the base? i.e. Didn't go in the dishwasher.
