When did you and your partner say I love you?

Just curious really, no right or wrong answer obviously.

I think my new boyfriend wants to say it but doesn't want me to not say it back, so he seems to be saying it in a jokey way or a roundabout way recently. Its cute really, neither of us are very serious people. Probably end up saying it to each other this weekend once we see each other again and we've been together for almost 2 months now, but 'dating' for 4/5 months ish.

What about you? :)

Three weeks in, been together five and a half years, getting married in autumn.

But... There's no magic date because each couple is unique and special and will do it at different times.
Enjoy the moment when it happens

After 8 weeks but could tell he wanted to say it before that. Instead of "love you" we would always jokingly say "like youuuu"

I'm horrified to say I can't remember. We've been together 20 years, married for 15.

I can remember the day I first met him, our first kiss, first night together, when he proposed etc...but I can't remember when we said I love you!

*Feel a little better as he's laying beside me watching football and has just farted.

He hasn't. I did, about 18 months in and he replied "I know".
Is it the words or actions that matter? The man who broke my orbital socket said "I love you" on an almost daily basis...

After a big bust up (he'd been a stupid idiot) about 3-4 months in, I turned to him and said 'I fucking love you, you idiot!!'
He just stared for a second then said 'well. That wasn't how I saw that going' 😂

Very romantic Blush

About 4 months in. That was January '99 we're now married with dc.

It was just spontaneous and popped out!

About 5 minutes after our first kiss!

We'd been friends for years, but when I found out he was separating from his long term partner, I emailed him to say that I thought he was wonderful and deserved so much better than the way his ex had treated him.

He asked me out to lunch a few days later and the rest is history Grin
Together over 5 years now, married 4...

DP said it to me after 6 weeks, we both sooo knew it was time to say it.

This is a tough one. My DP told me on NYE when we were about 2 months in but he was drunk and thought I was asleep. A month or two later I said it to him (again we were both in drink - sounds bad but that's not all we do). His response was 'it's too soon to say that.' I don't even think he remembers that. So there we are, I do but I won't say it again until he does. That said I don't really care because our relationship is genuinely great (and we are not drunks Grin)

I told him I loved him after about 5 months bit knew much before then. He'd never had a serious relationship before and things kind of had to go at his pace for a while. It didn't help that lots of family members were marrying us off as soon as they found out we were together (he was a friend of the family) - It was ages before he told me he loved me too, and even longer before he told me unprompted!! Now he tells me a couple of times a day, usually saying it first. Been together 9 years, married 4. He moved in after 18 months

Awww. my DH whispered it in my ear whilst watching an England v Scotland match in the local pub just after I'd done the fake bowing thing to the goalie of the time, who I think was David James.

Do you know, I can't remember and me & DP have only been together about 10 months Grin

We were friends for a long time before we got together and I know we said "love you" in a friendly way then but after we got together... not a clue. We do say it every day now though Smile
