Can anybody recommend any good dating sites, apart from Tinder and the God awful POF?!

Just that really... WinkSmile

I found my current beau Mr Naval Officer on Tinder. But I hardly ever swipe right on there. There are some good ones if you squint!

Bumble is better - higher quality of men.

On Eharmomy I have been ghosted after dates by four different men. And nobody ever seems to reply to messages.

Happn and Coffee Meet Bagel have had zero dates for me.

If you have an interest or passion then perhaps see if it has an associated dating site. For example, my DSis found her BF on a spiritual dating site Grin as in like new age/hippy. They've been together two years now. I found my latest on Muddy MatchesConfused. That was going fab but is now starting to go t*ts up due to unforeseen problems, soooo looks as if I might be rolling back into dating town.

If that happens, I shall be checking out another website and will maybe do MM again. Problem with that site is there are not many men in my area in my age range and I already excluded one last time as he was very boring and a bit rude. Weirdly, there are plenty of MM users in London, which is not far from me but not so muddy! It is also quite expensive subscription-wise.

Tinder scares me and I live in a village so I can only imagine how that would go! I have never heard of Bumble before, so will have a look at that myself.

I saw sites for vegetarians/vegans/eco warriors, pet lovers, dog lovers, people that like certain ethnicities, disabled people... I have no idea if they result in any dates though. I wonder if the 'pool' might be too small. Grin I think I shall have to include a couple of big cities if I date again.

Plenty of fish. Loads on there, loads of tossers but a few diamonds.
However I'm a lesbian so might be different for straights.
It's free so no risk financially at least

I met my DH on Match.com because the subscription cost for men is (or was anyway not sure now!) quite high, you get less people messing around or out for one thing! Good luck!

@Smeaton

Any bloke who dared to put an advert in there would need bollocks of stone.

Gosh yes, wouldn't he though!

I work in dating industry. I wouldn't recommend it but that's probably because I have become cynical from seeing the worst behaviour. But I would say match .com is the most reputable. (I don't work for them) pof and tinder mostly only good for hook ups

I found mine on Muddy matches. Did try POF but it was enough to put me off for life!

Based on everyone I know who has used online dating and myself the answer is.... they're all the same. Whether you pay or not makes no difference as to whether you will meet flakes, people who just want sex, people who will ghost you, receive offensive messages, the number of fake profiles. I see the same profiles on all sites even if I go back a year later.

I only know two people who have had a LTR from online dating. One of 4 years and counting and one marriage of 4 years after 18 months of dating. But that marriage is in trouble. Everyone else I know has struck out or never got more than a few dates or a month or two dating before it ends.

It's also a postcode lottery. If you live anywhere other than a large city, most of the sites are hopeless.

Met my fiancé on Tinder, had some lovely dates from OKCupid, POF should be renamed Plenty of Fish in the Primordial Soup.
