I really miss my ex

We've been separated for several months now yet talk every day.

He's on a business trip abroad and I can't help but think that if we were together I would excitedly waiting at home in what would be our lovely flat for him.

We had planned to get married and have children. I just feel incredibly sad and alone today. Sad

He was a dick but...we had so many amazingly happy times too. I had someone who I thought would be my life partner.

I have been dating and I felt ready and happy to....and today I feel crap again.

Why are you talking every day? DC?

Are you sure you're ready to date again? I thought this, but I really don't think I was. Does he know how you feel, if you want to actually move on it might be best to not talk to him as much or you will always feel that tie to him. Obviously if this isn't what you want, would you be able to tell him how you feel? The constant never knowing and living in limbo land can be very draining and upsetting x

I guess we are both a bit lonely, still love each other and were best friends so it's incredibly hard to cut that off.

No DC.

I think you might need some help as this doesn't sound at all healthy.
Living your own life, with someone who values you, rather than dreaming of waiting for someone to return home, who you're not with.
The worlds your oyster, move & look forward

I am in the same boat. But we don't talk. Better for me this way I think, although not much fun, it is true.

I know exactly how you feel. We broke up. I still love and care about him but he is a dick as well and totally not a good life partner. I keep thinking about all the fun times we had. I've been dating someone else but it's not the same (although he would make a much better life partner). I don't think I was ready to start dating again but needed to to move on. I'm not in contact anymore with my ex. It's hard but will help eventually.

Why did you split? Who's decision was it?

I don't think it's healthy to talk every day to someone that you still have feelings for that you can't be with.

If you split for irreconcilables, you'll have to go NC cold turkey

Otherwise you'll be here 24mos later, he may meet someone, (or you might and not give it a fair chance)

Make or break.

Why did you break up? Who did the splitting?

It was kind of mutual and very complicated - differences in culture was the main one!
