I've never heard of it being charged for, some places I suppose might charge for refreshments or room hire.
It's excellent- really thought provoking and gives you the space and time to consider your partner's behaviour.
It's usually delivered in 6-12 sessions if 2/3 hours. Mainly chalk and talk, with 'class participation' or talking in small groups you wouldn't be put on the spot or have to sit an exam. 
Have you looked at the website? There are course materials and books available too.
