Too single?

I've been single over a year, I'm 43 single mother. I don't want to be alone but I just can't see myself liking or trusting anyone again. How do I change my mindset?

Don't worry about changing your mindset. Start doing more of the things that you enjoy, hill walking, reading, volunteering whatever. You may meet somebody you may not. Live your life.

Love yourself first and foremost. Be happy in yourself. Things will change.

Embrace single life. Men don't offer much for me. Most of the ones I have had in my life have been selfish, lazy, untidy, self obsessed, mummy's boys, unfaithful, porn obsessed, football mad and often boring.

They only bring a dick to the table for me.

I decided at 42 to give them up and it's the best decision I ever made. I now have a lovely tidy house, loads of hobbies, do what I want when I want, have a great life with just me and the kids and wouldn't take a man into this for anything.

Try it, it's great once you mentally adjust.

I'm 42 and apart from a couple of dalliances and a short fling last summer I've been single for 18 months. I'm starting to love it. I've grown my circle of friends, I have a few new hobbies, my child free weekends are always busy with lots of activities, and I'm free to have a good oggle if a gorgeous bloke catches my eye.

I'm really not interested in getting into a new relationship as life is so exciting and so much fun now. In fact I really don't care if I don't ever have another relationship again and in any case I'm not sure I'd be able to trust a man with my heart again anyway.

I think the best way you can change your mindset is to fill your life with as much as possible and meeting someone will be something you no longer dwell on as you'll be too busy. Then if by chance you do meet someone you can take it really slowly and see where it goes from there.
