NC for this as could be identifying.
One of my close friends has become friends with someone who really grates on me.
I can stand her in small doses & that's fine but for prolonged periods of time it becomes unbearable. She's loud, obnoxious and always has to be the centre of attention. Now my friend is also particularly loud and with the two of them together you can't get a word in edge ways.
The problem is that my friend can't seem to see that not everyone is as in love with this new friend as she is.
We have had plans to go to this weekend event & have now been told that the new friend is coming. I really don't want to go now. I don't really want to be PA and childish & say "I'm not going if she's going". Plus it would be obvious if I pull out now.
How do I approach this? Other friends in our group feel the same but the problem is that the original friend is quite head strong and not the easiest person to approach. She's likely to take it personally if I say that I don't like new friend.
