I want to thank the most amazing group of people I've encountered on a forum. I posted last year about my story regarding my abusive parents. All of you came in and gave me some really hard-to-take advice, but I took it and heeded it. I have not spoken to my parents since having cut contact and though, there were 2 (poor) attempts made by them to contact me via e-mail...I remembered to protect myself, first and foremost.
There are some hard days, still. But, I always remember to come back and re-read both of my threads you guys responded on and it has SAVED me. This forum has saved my life. Though, I don't know anyone; I am truly grateful. Coming back to the advice that each and everyone one of you took time out of YOUR day to help this girl out...puts the biggest smile on my face.
I've found a new 'hidden' voice. I'm not completely out of the woods...but, I definitely have seen that light at the end of the tunnel. And I have to say, life holds more adventure now more than ever. I faced my ONE and BIGGEST fear: Standing up and saying NO to abusive, controlling parents. I walked away and I never looked back. What I got at the end of it? Happiness.
Thank you guys! You guys are amazing.
