Eharmony?

Just out of a long term relationship about 6 months ago. I want to start dating but I don't want to do the tinder thing, it's just a shagathon right?

Anyways, eharmony is very expensive. Can I have your reviews please?

Oh my god. I just did the personality test and apparently there's no one available for me. No one at all. Blush

Eharmony has very complex algorithms set up to match people on lots of parameters. They claim to be able to match profound things like relationship style, identify how different aspects of life matter to you. But in my view they don't go far enough. They don't cover politics, for example. Or approach to things outside romance and family life.

It takes hours and hours to complete your eHarmony profile. Having done so with great care and gone through weeks of "guided emails" where you ask each other suggested questions I finally reached the stage where a date might be on the cards. The first bloke turned out to be very right wing, but I found this out quite early in the process.

Now I'm a sceptic and quite keen on evidence based medicine. Imagine my feelings when after all this effort my supposed ideal match turned out to be a psychic healer. So much for eHarmony's bloody algorithms! Angry

One of my friends sister had that. They couldnt find a match.

I got two guys off eh, one reatively long term but both cheated.

Hardly anyone is using it now and you get next to no matches. dont bother.

Oh god! Not quite ready yet, but I'm sure it won't be long before I dip my toe in the OLD pool. Dreading it and seeing this gives me no confidence whatsoever.

You must be very special BleughSmile

I found it really pants didn't meet anyone I wanted to date on there. Match and Pof were much better but I guess it depends what you are looking for. Was on most of those for the last 4 years. Came off as I met someone I am dating, but didn't meet them online. That said I had some great dates and a couple of them became really good friends. Good luck! Xxx

I met my DH on eharmony, but I'm sure you can gather the success of that from my username.

I am coming to the end of a three month attempt at it
It's shite, there is hardly anyone on it, communication is incredibly slow and long winded, there are so many dead profiles... I've met three guys on there, I felt I had to so that jumping through all those stupid hoops wasn't a waste, but they were dull. There is momentum. You've dodged a bullet!

Oh and I cancelled the auto renewal very early on, but they have reactivation buttons all over the place that you only need tap once accidentally and they turn the subscription back on Halloween Hmm not a fan of these shady practices!

I tried e-harmony met some nice guys but nothing materialised as they were not suited to me.

I met my fiancé on match.com - you sometimes have to go through a few douches before you meet the right one. Persevere there are nice guys out there
