I seperated from my husband just over 2 months ago and we have been sharing the marital home since as he refuses to move out - he is also refusing to contribute a penny to the bills.
I am having anxiety issues and finding it really hard to be in the same house (no abuse, just difficult to be around him) and I'm on pins each evening waiting for his key in the lock and can't settle - just don't feel like my home is my sanctuary anymore.
I went to view a rental property on Friday and today have put down the deposit - I've contacted the bank and told them I will be making very reduced payments on the mortgage until it's sold and I will also be stopping the utilities.
I'm now having major panic at the thought of what I've done - I know for my sanity I need to move on, but it's just so final, even though there is no chance of a reconciliation. I thought I knew my husband until 2 months ago but I have no idea how he will react when I tell him I'm going - please reassure me I'm doing the right thing!!

My ex didn't believe I would go. Even when I was packed. I went when he was at work. It was easier all round. Enlist support from friends and family when the time comes to move out. Don't risk confrontation with him.

You are taking very sensible steps towards drawing yourself from this situation so well done to you! What's the new house like? Can you move out any earlier to a friends perhaps? Not that you should have to
