My partner stays at home with our children (6 and 10) and has done that for the past 6 years. I work outside of the home.
We have just moved to another country (our 6th international move in 10 years, funded by my company but 100% driven by my partner).
On this move, we have had some issues with setting up that we have not had on our other moves. For example, we have been declined various facilities due to lack of credit history - mobile phone post paid, credit card and now home wifi tv package.
My partner is furious about these refusals and is tonight complaining about my inability to sort these issues out. Also very concerned about what will happen when we try and get car finance, for a car that admittedly will be used predominantly by them and not me.
On my side, I have done everything I can to make this move as easy as possible for all of us. I have done everything to sort the removal and move in consultation with everyone as far as it impacts them. I have taken care of everything from removal of our household to temporary accommodation, home searches, school applications etc etc. Not to mention all the paperwork and admin required for visas.
In terms of local facilities, I have spoken to my company and various providers and am trying to resolve the credit history issues but it seems that this is not enough for my partner.
Am I missing something, is there something more I could and should be doing? I must admit I am flummoxed at the attitude I am getting, esp when told that I am not telling the whole story and clearly hiding something (?!?)
