Tell me all the big/little things he does that makes you realise how lucky you are!!! I wanna hear them all!!

My DP always gives me the pizza slice with the most cheese grin

No one makes me laugh, like my husband . Even when I'm really peed off ...he can make me smile . I love that about him.

DramaAlpaca Thu 04-Aug-16 23:24:45

He just 'gets' me, like nobody else does.

He makes me laugh.

He always brings me a cup of tea in bed in the morning.

We've been together 28 years & I wouldn't be without him.

holygold13 Thu 04-Aug-16 23:25:56

Bert how lovely!! I always say that's the biggest thing in a relationship... Laughter!

holygold13 Thu 04-Aug-16 23:27:16

Drama I absolutely love when a couple have been together many years and still adore each other. So special and rare. You're both extremely blessed smile

After 40 years, I love him more than I can say. I still feel a thrill when he comes home, even if he has just popped out to post a letter. Everything is better when I am with him smile

My DP always gives me a kiss on the forehead and a big cuddle before he goes anywhere.

He makes me laugh even though I'm laughing at him most of the time

He always plates up my food first grin

He makes me a cup of tea every morning.

He phones me a couple times a day just to make sure I'm ok

And he loves cuddles as I do.

Actually he pisses me off something rotten a lot of the time but writing these few things has made me see how lucky I am smile

he listened to me and changed a lifetime of thinking when he understood that we have different standards of cleanliness and tidiness and that me being messier doesn't make me wrong: we are just different.

He brings me a cup of tea every night when I go to bed.

Scribblegirl Thu 04-Aug-16 23:34:31

He proposed to me 2 weeks ago and made me the happiest girl alive.

There's lots of little stuff but for now that's the thing grin

FayaMAMA Thu 04-Aug-16 23:34:34

Not sure I can call him my DP as we've only been dating 6 months, but still I love a good gush blush:

It sounds like a stupid thing, but he sometimes takes 30 minutes out of his work day to come and meet me for a coffee so we can see each other when we both have our kids so can't meet in the evenings. No other man has ever made spending time with me, just talking, a priority and it feels so nice.

He always lets me share his dessert even though I always claim to be full...

Also, he's been very supportive and understanding about me not wanting to rush our relationship and he's so respectful and kind and wow I'm really gushing now, aren't I?

We're yet to have pizza together, but I hope he's the kind of guy to give me the cheesiest slice too, OP!

Iknowthisgirl my Mum use to get excited every time my Dad came home from work. She use to wait at the door saying 'my baby's home!!'. I use to cringe but now I think back, it's actually really lovely!

holygold13 Thu 04-Aug-16 23:39:06

Mummy my DP always plates my food up first too. Always makes me smile!

Tartyflette Thu 04-Aug-16 23:39:31

Well, we had dinner tonight (cooked by me) but all the vegetables were grown by him. He's an ace gardener! And he thanked me for the lovely dinner while I complimented him for his veg growing skills. We were insufferably smug wink.
He's just finished clearing up the kitchen.

holygold13 Thu 04-Aug-16 23:40:05

Scribble congratulations!!! I hope you have the most amazing life together and gush over each other every single day! Xx

holygold13 Thu 04-Aug-16 23:41:45

Faya what a lovely post!!!! Pizza date tomorrow night maybe? grin

CryHavoc Thu 04-Aug-16 23:42:01

Mine is my best mate. Seventeen years in and he makes me excited just by walking into a room.
He brings me tea in bed every morning.
His relationship with our little girl makes me beam. He's a brilliant dad.

FellOutOfBed2wice Thu 04-Aug-16 23:42:08

Mine is very funny and makes me laugh every day. He's gentle and kind and good. I didn't think that I could love him more than I did until I had our daughter, but seeing the bond that they now have makes my heart soar (she's two). They so obviously adore each other and that makes me very happy.

holygold13 Thu 04-Aug-16 23:44:43

Tarty how lovely! Nothing beats home grown veg! Except a wonderful DH to share them with

PaintedDrivesAndPolishedGrass Thu 04-Aug-16 23:46:34

My DP gave me the moon and the stars.

holygold13 Thu 04-Aug-16 23:47:15

Cry I'm grinning from ear to ear reading these. (Probably because AF decided to show today so I'm all emotional and wanted some positive vibes!!)
How wonderful you still get excited when he comes home

holygold13 Thu 04-Aug-16 23:48:31

Felloutofbed I can't wait to have a baby with my DP. What could be better than a little person that's half you and half the person you love running around!?

holygold13 Thu 04-Aug-16 23:48:56

Painted no words! How incredibly wonderful!

ayeokthen Thu 04-Aug-16 23:51:43

He's my best friend, he always has my back when things get tough, he listens to me, he knows when I need a hug, he tells me I'm beautiful even when I look like shit, he understands my anxiety and listens to my ramblings without making me feel stupid, he's loyal, he works hard, he's a phenomenal dad/stepdad (he hates the phrase "hands on dad" because to him it's just what dads should do), he makes me laugh, he makes me happy and he makes me believe in myself. Also, he's proper gorgeous grin

SortItAhhht Thu 04-Aug-16 23:53:31

Cup of tea in bed every morning of our 15 years together (bar when he is working away angry)

Supports me career wise...when I felt i was best to stay home with our DC he supported it, when I wanted to work full on and full-time in my career he supported it, now I am doing p/t and tto he supports it. He trusts my decision making and ultimately wants me to do what I think is best for myself and us all.

Happy about me having nights out, weekends away now and then, even the odd holiday away with friends or my sister/mum etc. Supports me having my own life and leisure time.

Encourages my hobbies (gym, writing, reading, ancient history geekery) and makes time to let me pursue them.

Is always lovely to my mad friends and frankly fucking dysfunctional Irish Traveller family.

Celebrates my achievements big style, mass me feel special and amazing.

Tells me i m beautiful and wants me sexually whether I am a slender, trim and toned size 10 (when I met him), flabby, scarred size 20 (post babies), or now - as a reasonably slim but very stretch-marked and war-wounded 40 yr old size 12.

Cooks at least 50% of the time

Hands-on dad (never shied away from nappy changes, night feeds, school run etc)

Nice to his mum (and my mum grin)

Just a bloody lovely bloke...basically grin

DS arrived unexpectedly early at 33 weeks. DH drove us into hospital when my waters broke. Obviously for a long time afterwards the focus was on me and DS...

Around DS' first birthday I asked him what he'd done the night after DS was born (DS went to NICU) . Unbeknown to me he'd not actually gone home as I'd assumed- he slept in the car all night because he wanted to be closer to his family!
