Child Maintenance calculated incorrectly - I am owed thousands! Is there anything I can I do?

I have always had my child maintenance payments calculated by the CSA. Been separated 8 years. For the first few years, I'm sure the calculation was right, but a couple of years in, I was shocked at what they said his weekly income was, as it had severely dropped since we separated. I queried it with the CSA, and they were adamant it was correct.

Fast forward to March this year and ExH has suddenly (and for no apparent reason) stopped paying, so in March I opened a new case with Child Maintenance Options. They have the ability to go directly to HMRC, for his salary info.

It turns out that he is earning 4 times as much as the CSA said he was!

And their last calculation was only 10 months ago, so there's no way he has had a fourfold increase in salary in 10 months.

This means that I have been underpaid by tens of thousands.

Does anyone know, if there is anything that I can do about this?

I am on a fairly low salary and I buy EVERYTHING for the kids. Turns out he earns £10k a month! I had no idea!

Any advice much appreciated.

Do you have any correspondence from the CSA regarding the previous payments?

Yes I do. I've got a letter from the CSA, dated May 2015, saying his weekly pay is £699 (which I knew was utter crap). And I've got a letter from Child Maint Services (replaced CSA), dated April 2016, saying that his weekly pay is £2533. And I know the Child Maint Services went directly to HMRC, as he was ignoring their calls.

These are the steps you need to take to begin the complaint process: //www.gov.uk/child-maintenance/complaints-and-appeals and I hope you'll report back with your progress/outcome.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that now. I've been googling, but so far not found out much!
