News of my ex - I & my kids are well rid

I split from ex-DP just over 2 yrs ago now. Not my DC's dad.

He had 2 DD close in age to my own DC, they were a big part of our lives for nearly 7 years. They stayed with us for 3 weekends out of 4 and we had some great holidays together, the 6 of us. It was just their dad that was the angry, aggressive bully. He actually hit his DD whilst we were on our last holiday together, which was the beginning of the end for me.

The eldest DD was 18 last week so I sent her a card. She sent me a text saying thank you and I discovered from her that they have had nothing to do with their dad since before Christmas, his new family are taking up all of his time. This was the woman he started seeing 3 weeks after we'd split who he's now engaged to!

He hasn't even sent his DD a card or present, had no contact with her and his parents (probably encouraged by him) haven't sent their grand daughter a card either. His DD is of course upset. He's blocked both girls from contacting him!

So, a leopard doesn't change his spots and although I don't know the whole story he's still obviously the same.

I've had a lucky escape and I'm just glad I never married the man.

He sounds horrendous. His poor dds will be scarred by him and his behaviour.

Thank goodness you didn't stay with him.

Glad you dodged a bullet OP. His poor children though. It is nice that they feel they can talk to you though, you must have been great with them.
