How can I help him?

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:12:20

Anyone out there?

FrancisdeSales Wed 02-Dec-15 03:13:04

Did you take him to the ER or doctor?

FrancisdeSales Wed 02-Dec-15 03:13:28

How old is he OP?

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:14:59

He called the doctor and police and ambulance came. He's 24 I'm 350 miles away but my DH is with him

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:17:10

I feel so guilty because he has been feeling stressed since he left uni He feels guilty because we spent so much money on his education

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:18:54

Are you still there Francis? Thanks for replying

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:22:20

I need a hand hold

yakari Wed 02-Dec-15 03:27:39

I can hand hold. Have you spoken to your DH since he got there?
If they have medical help that's the best way to get him support but must be awful for you waiting so far away

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:29:09

Bless you My son is at home but not feeling any better. I feel so guilty

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:30:59

yakari I just want to ramble on I've been up here sorting out my father's estate for months

yakari Wed 02-Dec-15 03:32:13

Have they offered follow up support? If not I'd be getting your DH to investigate what can be done locally.
how about you - any chance of sleep or will it be a night of hot tea and curled up on the sofa?

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:32:25

I just want to talk

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:33:59

He's going on ADs and I've encouraged him to seek counselling. He's not good at talking about his feelings like all the men in the family

yakari Wed 02-Dec-15 03:34:11

Well tell me about your DS as much as you wish obviously. What's he doing since he left Uni?

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:35:15

I feel so completely selfish I should have been there for him

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:36:26

He's not been doing anything He did a degree and a masters and got himself completely burnt out

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:38:27

My DH talked to him for 4 hours today DS cried a bit and hugged DH and said he loved him Maybe this is a turning point

yakari Wed 02-Dec-15 03:39:10

Distance always make things harder - can you get to see him yourself? Or can he come home for a bit?

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:41:39

He is at home and my other DS are going back in a couple of days My father died and I'm at his farm

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:42:52

I'm just in a state of shock

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:44:29

Should I get this thread deleted?

yakari Wed 02-Dec-15 03:44:44

Ah I see. God you've all had a rough year of it. Hopefully you don't need to stay at the farm long and can head back (I'm a city girl so would be of nouse to anyone on a farm!)

derxa Wed 02-Dec-15 03:46:28

There's a flock of sheep but I've got a good shepherdess to look after them

yakari Wed 02-Dec-15 03:48:40

Hopefully you can get home tomorrow and just scoop him up in a big hug.
