snogging a smoker

I'm dating & have met a new man. He said he didn't smoke. Smoking is a deal-breaker for me. Thing is, I have almost no sense of smell, I think I only have about 10% left, the other 90% has gone. I can't smell perfume if I spray myself, can't smell if the toilet needs cleaning etc. It's a pain. Anyway, so, the first time we kissed I could taste a faint something in his mouth, maybe metallic-ish? I wondered if he'd not brushed his teeth? But he was so well groomed I didn't think that was likely. I can't smell anything on his clothes. Next time we meet, we kiss again. This time I can definately taste there is something going on, so, what I'm asking is: What does a smokers kiss taste like? I have my suspicions because in one of his photos there was a bag of that loose tobacco on the table in front of him, but he says it wasn't his. So can anyone describe the taste to me? Without saying like licking an ashtray!

Why do you think he smokes? It may just be that he has halitosis or doesn't drink enough water. Smokers breath can be rank but it's more a smell than a taste.

Smoking was the only thing I could think of to account for it?

Could be coffee, alcohol if you were drinking or any number of things. Or he could be a smoker! You will need to introduce him to a mate and get them to sniff him Grin

Smokers, depending on how heavy a, have a smell of it on their clothes though too. It doesn't taste of smoke unless literally just had a cigarette. Would it really be a deal breaker even if you thought it would go somewhere?

Why exactly are you asking ............ if you don't enjoy kissing him does it matter if he is a smoker, marmite eater or has bad breath - surely you just don't want to kiss him ?

I can't imagine wanting to be with someone who wasn't pleasant to kiss Confused. Or if you really like him just tell him you don't kiss.
