Anyone dating an older man?

I mean at least 15 years older? How do you find it are you on the same 'wave length'? Do people comment on the age difference? Is the sex any different to a younger man?

I keep thinking I'm looking for a father figure?!

I did- he was 14 years older. We split up after 5 years but was nothing to do with his age.

If you think you need a father figure this is something maybe you could explore with a counsellor.

If the man you are seeing makes you happy, and you feel you are on the same wave length, you don't need to be concerned about what anyone else thinks. It is no one else's business.

I think an older man may be more appreciative. I do not believe whatsoever that the person would need counselling just because they are getting on well with someone older !!

The myth is that the person is seeking a father figure but I have heard said by somebody very insightful than in actual fact they are seeking a mother substitute i.e. more patient and caring and considerate than a partner of the same age as them.

That sits right with me to be honest. I prefer older men for as long as they aren't too crusty dry or old fashioned in their views! They need the requisite youthful outlook and to not be bossy or controlling.

Thanks, I don't think I need a counsellor per se, but I read an article about younger women wanting to date an older man. I never wanted to date an older man really, it just happened.. The man I have met is patient and caring, is young at heart - just seems to good to be true!

If you are happy that's all that matters to be honest at the moment

14 years here but he doesn't look or act it. The sex is the best I've ever had. I think that's more to do with him than his age, although I do wonder if not having grown up with internet porn helps.

I quite like some older men as they are usually happier in their skin by then and more at peace with themselves - for as long as they don't look too physically decrepid and have aged well that is!

In addition I would rather they weren't endlessly down at the doctors or hospital although I do not wish to sound heartless but endless moans and groans about symptoms and pains would not lure me in enough!

I have dated a few older men and married one ( now separated ), recently dated someone 18 years older than me, the sex was great but he felt we couldn't have a relationship.

I find older men more atractive, I have been trying to date younger men but find them to be immature idiots who think they know everything, I'm. It sure if I could have a successful relationship with someone closer to my age. And I agree with Smashing about not growing up with Internet porn, younger men seem to want to act out what they have seen online and often fail badly Grin.

There is something in them being older calmer and more worldwise

Yes...13 yrs older and worrying about it. It's alright when you are both 'young' but when he tips over into 'old' hmmmm. That's what is bothering me but we get on so well.

I mean at least 15 years older?
My husband was 15 years older than me.
How do you find it are you on the same 'wave length'?
No, but I don't think that was related to age.
Do people comment on the age difference?
I was frequently mistaken for his daughter, as I look younger than I am and he looked older.
Is the sex any different to a younger man?
Better.

He died when I was 36.
