DH has "form." A few things that have not added up since we have known each other, but never enough to even point to something concrete. Lying about strip club, things he's said about exes revealed to be not true, or he tells me a version of something then two years later he forgets and tells me a slightly different version (probably the truth,) which would have swayed my original opinion, but when I point that out he gets all huffy and says it is "years ago" and he's "probably forgotten" and I should "move on etc." hard to move on when you don't know the truth!
Anyway - we were out tonight and DH was slightly tipsy and he suddenly looked very shocked and exclaimed - probably before he had time to think- that someone was trying to break into his Facebook. I could see the email over his shoulder and it was one of these "if you're receiving this it's because you have requested a new password and click on this link to confirm." He then went very silent and got all possessive over his phone and that was that.
Now DH barely goes on Facebook. He has a lot of friends on FB but he doesn't really put much on there. He's a married father of two who doesn't see much of his friends, and all his friends are busy with their own lives and kids. so not many people with a motive to break into his Facebook.
I just feel suspicious of it and I'm not sure why. Have you ever had one of these emails and not known why? Could it ever just be a random internet bot?
