Ending therapy - how to do it?

Absolutely, talk to your therapist, he/she will have done this many times and should have a wrap up session or two with you about how to handle things going forwards, techniques to fall back on etc.

Sorry it's so difficult. You need to talk about it. Your therapist needs to be talking about it with you, and about what your fears and anxiety are about.

You definitely need to talk to your therapist about it and perhaps arrange a weaning off period, so if you are currently going once a week you drop down to once a fortnight, then one a month. I think it can become a habit like anything else.

Do you have good friends you can talk to. Do you journal or have other creative way or expressing your emotions? If not maybe this is something you could explore with or without your therapist until you find something that works for you.

OP you go to your next counselling session and tell your therapist that you need/want to bring the counselling to a close and the next session will be the final meeting.

Your counsellor is a professional who has done a lot work around endings, they will help you deal with this. You can deal with this.
