Moving on from relationship

I have been lonely for a few years but kept myself busy with DC, work and voluntary work also. Met a nice guy online a few months ago and we started an emotional affair. We met and really liked each other. It all seems to have fizzled out now. He was really enthusiastic and we would spend hours every day talking and now I hardly hear from him anymore.

I am trying to move past it but it seems to have left an emptiness in me. I was fine before albeit lonely but now I feel a hundred times worse because I have witnessed some lovely happiness, someone who seemed to care about me, was always wanting to talk to me and was caring. Maybe it would have been better not to have met him at all.

I am trying to keep myself busy but everything now seems dull

How do I get past this?

Just time. And keeping busy. And deleting his number. And going no contact. It will hurt less eventually xxxx
Hugs xxxx

The phrase emotional affair usually refers to a close intimate but non physical relationship between people who are married or with other people. Was this the case or was it just an online relationship? Did you actually meet up with him in person?

It started off as emotional and then we met and it turned physical

Thank you MrsGills, I still haven't deleted his number
