Hi Everyone,

I am mainly a lurker on this board but would love some feedback. I am a 40 year old divorced mom of one three year old DD and am considering dating a man who is 55 years old and has never been married. He runs his own company and says he was focused on making it a success and that interfered with his love life. I have often heard that men over the age of 40 who have never been married can be difficult. Anyone on here who can share their experience with dating an older man who has never been married and has no children. Thanks so much!

I married one, been wed 11 years now and all is good. Hes great, always was. He wasnt 55 tho but 40 when we married. I have kids with my ex and he took them on and has been a better father to them than their real father was.

Managing our expectations in the beginning was a constant learning experience. Him never been wed,no kids etc,me escaped an abusive long term marriage with 3 damaged kids.

Its been the happiest 11 years of my adult life.Wasnt always easy I will admit but we were committed to each other and things working. He isnt and never was abusive in any way,it was literally a learning curve and managing expectations.

Best thing I ever did

Have a few dates see how it goes - but keep your DD as your priority.
