It's a pop up, but it comes up from browsing porn sites!

I had this same issue. Was told it pops up when watching normal porn.

I think it's some kind of webcam type live porn site, so yes I expect there are charges. I'm sure someone who knows more will be along shortly but I the meantime maybe check his credit card statement or bank account?

Looked into settings safari advanced, it's in there under websites he's visited, 1.1kb, much more than the other porn sites it looks like he was on. So what does that mean? Worried.

It automatically pops up and opens on another tab if you go on a porn site (ie if you're watching films etc). It doesn't mean he's actively gone looking for it and opened it himself.

It pops up all the time and not just from porn sites but quite a lot of torrent/download type sites as well.

Yes, but if it's in the websites in advanced data, safari, settings - is it likely to be a pop up? He used 1.1kb of data, does that equate to time, or memory? He was on quite a few other porn sites, but all together they used less kb than this one site.

The pop-up contains a recording of what is said to be a "live" video feed. This is heavy in data storage. Keep an eye on the situation, but I'd give the benefit of the doubt to him if there's only one listing for LiveJasmin.

We had a case at work where a colleague was accused of misusing a company PC. I went to the disciplinary hearing as "the prisoner's friend". On IT's advice the HR guy hardly mentioned LJ at all. They concentrated on other sites. That's why I may seem relaxed about it.

More annoyingly LiveJasmin tends to be a 'pop-under' which means that it happily plays and when you shut a main window, bam, there it is.

Fully agree with the comments, it's a heavily intrusive pop under that you'll find all over the place.

Yes, this doesn't only come up when on porn sites. Often comes up when using sites that illegally stream movies and TV programs.

1.1kb is tiny, basically the amount of time it was on the screen would likely be 2-3 seconds.

If it's on the website data in advanced settings, it can still be a pop up.

I'd leave him right now with no explanation, only stopping to transfer everything to your name first, just to be on the safe side.

I've had it pop up when I was trying to stream a speedway meeting to watch my son racing.

It also pops up when I'm doing online web classes through a very large and poncy professional institution's official web seminars.

Very embarrassing when they're ones you have to have my microphone on for and the sound from the window in the background comes on

I think it's just pop ups from regular porn. Me and my hubby went thru a bad patch a while ago when I found out he'd been using porn while I was pregnant, the usual sites I guess but this one came up equally as much. When I confronted him he admitted regular porn but was adamant this was a pop up and he had never used web cams. I do honestly believe him.
