Can I just have a little rant about online dating profile pictures

Why put a picture of a group of people up? How am I supposed to know which one is you?

I understand you have children but I don't need to see a picture of them here.

Giving the finger on your picture is a massive no no in my book

If you're not smiling then I immediately think you're a grumpy pain and I don't want to get to know you

Why are you in a picture with a woman on a dating site? She may be your sister, friend whoever but how am I supposed to know that?

Only putting a picture of your abs up makes me think two things A) you have a face resembling Quasimodo B) You're obsessed with the gym

I'm sure there are more that I have missed but that actually feels better

Ditto for the pics of the massive fish you caught and are showing off proudly although it totally obscures your face. Of course, the bottom of the pint of lager ones (again face obscured) taken in the pub are also a major turn off - for many reasons.

The fish ones are because men don't generally have lots of photos taken of them. When they do, they will be with friends with a pint, at a birthday do or something. Or they'll be showing off the fish they just caught.

Why do women post pictures of their horse? Just their horse? Or them riding their horse, blurry and in a riding hat so you can't see them?

Or the fake moustaches? Or pictures of their dogs? Bathroom selfies, holiday photos of the Egyptian pyramid - sometimes with them in front of it, 100 yards from the camera, sometimes just the pyramid. Or a beach

And the cakes. Oh my god, the endless cakes..
