Just that really!
I hate Valentines day but as its our first feel like i should make at least some effort but its so hard to find something thats not cheesy!
Cooking a nice meal is out the question but we will be having a night in.
Anyone any ideas?

Do you know what he likes? My DH likes real ale so I got him a bottle of a special local ale today. In the past I have baked some heart biscuits or a cake. We don't do typical Valentine's gifts usually - just something thoughtful.

I've got my new boyfriend an axe sharpener.
Does that help? :)
Neither of us "do" V Day, so I'm going to wrap it with very ostentatious pink and red paper with a heart balloon tied to the box.

Don't buy anything, just aim for a nice evening together.

I thought being cheesy was the whole point. Loathe it m'self, always did. (Will raise a toast to St Valentine when there is a glut of pink sugary cakes at half price on the 15th though.)

Maybe he hates it too. Maybe you could bond over not doing Valentines.

How long have you been together? A t-shirt, shirt, CD, tie?

Annie - love your comment about bonding over not doing Valentines, haha, Smile yet the cakes on the day after will be discounted - thanks for pointing that bit out, will have to make sure I get to the shops for that, Cake

Cabrina - saw your post on another thread, love your present!

Chocolates or cupcakes with love hearts on. I got some of these the other year off my husband. They sell them in m and s. Were really cute and Very tasty.
Aftershave is always nice.

Bedtime - those sound lovely, your husband will love. What sort of top, is it a jumper? And the cupcakes with hearts on sound really nice! I wonder if they have them this year, I'll have to pop out and get some, for the sake of something nice and Valentinesey.

If you've got a night in planned - how about a DVD or a nice bottle of wine?

Why is cooking a meal out of the question lol

Report
BitOutOfPractice · 11/02/2014 11:44

I wanted to ask that!

I've got a little lunch box set with cheesy pun-type slogans on them ("I'm nuts about you" with a picture of some nuts, that kind of thing) and I'm going to make him a nice kunch to take to work to go in them

And hot sex. Obv

A box of Maltesers! That's what my DH is getting and he'll be pleased! I'd be happy with that too.

Shatners, nothing says love like a Gregg's sausage roll in my opinion

I got DP a card and hid it in his bag as he is working away and getting back on Friday night. No present but we are going to order takeaway ,play the game Monogamy and have a lot of few drinks.

Blimey Bedtime that sounds a bit much! Does it put pressure on him to reciprocate? I would hate that if it was me.
