Well, after the brou-ha-ha and 1 week ban on 23rd October, it doesn't look like Anyfucker is coming back (haven't recognised her posting style under another name, either) and Solidgoldbrass stopped posting a few weeks later (9th Nov to be precise - and yes, I do have other stuff I should be getting on with! Grin. May be related, maybe not. Just wanted to comment, in case they still visit the site, that they are missed. That is all.

I thought AnyFucker posted after the week ban as AnyFuckerReporting. I forget which thread, and perhaps I am wrong.

I have gobs of stuff to get on with too. Blush

I often think of posters from years ago that helped me so much, Pages and Sakura.

I was on holiday mid to end October so I have no idea what went on, but IMO both of these guys were valued members if the MN community and I for one will miss them if they have gone.

Ann, Anyfucker was banned for a week and during that week a lot of posters NCed to an AF-based name. There's been no posts by AF herself since, and AFAIK she hasn't announced her return. SGB disappeared about 2 weeks later, which was about 2 weeks ago - maybe just on holiday, but I for one am keeping an eye out for their inimitable style and content.

I have a feeling AF is posting under another name. Could be wrong though.
Izzy is much missed too. She's been absent quite a while.

She is back under another name .... just keep looking - you'll spot her.

Obviously don't 'out' her though, as if she wanted to announce she was back to all and sundry, she would have.

Oh I havent been here long but I'm pleased to hear she's back. No wonder she's keeping a bit quiet with all the kerfuffle that went on, but she can't be in any doubt she was missed =)

There is no way AF would ever leave mumsnet.

she may have had a bit of a flounce but she spent so much time hanging out in the relationships section, it would have left a big hole in her life if she didn't get to advise other women any more Smile

And get them to LTB

AF didn't have the power to get anyone to do anything, lemonmuffin - but she had an incisive way of cutting through the hand-wringing and agonising that often accompanies being in a relationship with a bad'un. The choice of what to do is always the OP's.

You're right, however hard someone tries they can't make anyone do anything via an internet forum thankfully.

Doesn't stop them trying tho.

I am sure I have seen AF under a new name.

Did SGB announce that she was leaving or something? Surely its quite normal to take a break every now and then Confused.

Ryan as others have said if she wanted to be ojted she would do it herself. I have no idea if that is her.
Hope sgb hasn't gone.

Who knows-it's a bit daft guessing though.

But isn't it weird how we get so attached to what is simply a user name? I sometimes wonder if my mental images of some 'high profile' MNers bear any resemblance at all to the person who's behind the name ( and the screen.)

Maybe some Mners know other Mners in RL but for those of us who don't it would be really interesting to 'see' them and find out if they are anything like they are in our heads!
