The Rules

1. Develop a thick skin;
2. Do not invest emotionally too soon;
3. It's all BS until it actually happens;
4. Trust your gut instinct;
5. People vanishing, lying and being generally weird to you are not your fault
6. You are the prize - they should be trying to impress you
7. If it's not fun, stop
8. loo update is mandatory

Oh and I just got the EXACT same 'I was 8 inches in high school and Mum had friendly friends' line

Pass the brainbleach

JoylessFucker Thu 05-Sep-13 23:12:27

OWW on the Times I only get the decrepids ... apart from my mad friend Rick (bless 'im) but OKC seems to bring in the boys for some unknown reason.

JoylessFucker Thu 05-Sep-13 23:08:24

kitty Freedom programme places may be as rare as gold dust but there is no one more worthy. Please do put yourself forward, please ...

hostesswithleastest Thu 05-Sep-13 23:06:19

ha! Kin Hispanic lovely is quick off the mark, I just got messaged :D

I really do wonder why guys thousands of miles away do this. It ain't never going to happen is it?

hostesswithleastest Thu 05-Sep-13 23:03:20

God I just saw the most terrifying geek photo ever and I just can't scrub it from my mind...guy looked like he needed help to wash his hair

hostesswithleastest Thu 05-Sep-13 23:02:26

ooh blimey he's rather fit but a bit chunky for me.... but he's in Phoenix Arizona which ain't much use to anyone here

hostesswithleastest Thu 05-Sep-13 23:02:02

kin my match list looks like mugshots of the geeks arrested for hacking into US government computers atm

hostesswithleastest Thu 05-Sep-13 22:59:30

heheeehe OWW

Oh joyless I would love your problem now. I need eye candy to take my mind off ex

KinNora Thu 05-Sep-13 22:59:25

Arf OWW. Honestly the other day it was like a bunch of old lags in Wormwood Scrubs - most depressing.

OhWesternWind Thu 05-Sep-13 22:57:43

Mine looked like the queue for the loo at the North West Regional Darts League final ...

JoylessFucker Thu 05-Sep-13 22:57:19

"CBBC presenters" ... yes, exactly this. 'Tis all very flattering, but what am I to do with them when they're younger than my daughter?

hostess PM coming in a mo ...

hostesswithleastest Thu 05-Sep-13 22:54:30

my stunningly gorgeous (Latin) ex is back in touch.

Resist, resist, resist...

hostesswithleastest Thu 05-Sep-13 22:53:25

ooh yes I never say no to a good Latin gawp

KinNora Thu 05-Sep-13 22:50:28

Hostess sexy bloke who messaged me before described himself as Hispanic, would you like a linky ?

hostesswithleastest Thu 05-Sep-13 22:46:20

Oh lord kin my visitors look like a bunch of bad holiday pics of people's dads posing on boats etc and the odd shadowy webcam pic screaming 'geek'. Not that that's a bad thing but a cool geek will make more of an effort.

hostesswithleastest Thu 05-Sep-13 22:45:16

Kin you must be giving off internet pheromones. I know what you mean OWW I have had far too few stunningly fit young men contact me too <dirty old woman emoticon>

Well one but he turned out to live in Essex with his mum and only wanted to skype. Bah.

I am getting lots of earnest young men who want to chat to me about gender studies and writing and no hot six packs whatever (well none visible)

Joyless given I am stuck on sofa pls send me link so I may gawp at gorgeous Italian. I have massive Latin fetish...

KinNora Thu 05-Sep-13 22:40:40

And while I'm on a roll, I'd like to say that when your list of 'visitors' on okc looks like the police identity parade after a brutal murder, it's a bit depressing.

(To be fair mine doesn't at the moment, it looks like a herd of CBBC presenters - I blame Joy )

KinNora Thu 05-Sep-13 22:32:34

I hardly know the man ! Tsk, I'm not a complete idiot (I am).

Also, what's with the blaming me for everything ?
Personally I think that means I'm allowed to throw a giant strop like ds1, the irritating little git.

OhWesternWind Thu 05-Sep-13 22:13:36

Kitty like you say, the freedom programme will help for emotional abuse as well as physical, think you can do it online too. Counselling and/or CBT are great for self-esteem and self-confidence. Sometimes it's just good to have a bit of help and someone to work things out with.

Family will they keep your details in case something else comes up? Sounds very positive!

Nora I think you should do it too!!

Winefiend Thu 05-Sep-13 21:56:55

Nora oh Christ woman, throw caution to the wind and tell him you would love to visit.

rubbishfamily333 Thu 05-Sep-13 21:55:45

Oh I hope so western grin

Well the interview went well, I didn't get the position but it would have been too much work for me. I got some very positive feedback from them and they said unfortunately they filled a position last week which would have been ideal for me. Less hours less stress and new learners (it's for an assessors role) and I am new to this sector. I am happy with how it went though. But still unemployed! confused

kittykat10 Thu 05-Sep-13 21:48:30

Sorry rambling message

kittykat10 Thu 05-Sep-13 21:44:34

I am not domestic violence casualty . I've done training on this as a health care professional yes I know some of the situations are similar , he texted today being all charming but we'll f uked his world by saying his gf name ext and that she still on pof May seem petty but felt good.
He actually made me feel better , work broke what spirit I had .
Plus freedom program places like gold dust there are more deserving ppl

OhWesternWind Thu 05-Sep-13 21:34:17

How did the interview go Family? Good for you kicking Mr Rich into touch. Sounds like you and Sooper have really had things fall into place recently. Fantastic stuff

OhWesternWind Thu 05-Sep-13 21:30:59

Sorry Kitty meant to reply to you earlier but got slightly distracted - I blame Nora.

I think I've said before that it sounds like you've had a terrible time in the past, and to be honest your self-esteem and self-confidence seem shot to pieces. Have you looked into doing the Freedom programme, or having some counselling (free via your GP or WA)? Time is a great healer too, but unless you put in the time and effort to do the work, recognise the patterns etc that might not be enough by itself. I've been there too, so have far too many of us on here. It's not easy, but it's certainly doable.
