Rerlationship between H and DS1

Everyone on here knows about H's affair ... blah blah, old news. Anyhow we are ticking along OK. One of the things that hurt me most about it all was how H neglected the kids. DS1 in particular seemed unhappy. He loves me to bits and we are very close, he could see I was hurting and it upset him. After dday we didn't tell the kids anything - not their business, not our business to distress them with crappy grownup nonsense.

H had been making massive efforts to build bridges. DS1 is 16 now - he had a job 'sticking up' skittles once or twice a week at a pub in town. H sometimes takes him there and they have been getting to know each other again - I think it was awkward at first. This weekend they went out together to listen to a band - one the way back H said something about how he couldn't beleive how grown up DS1 was, he remembered when he was born and he was so small and helpless. DS asked him how he felt at the time, H said he was over the moon but a little sad that his dad (who died when I was 5months pregnant - H was in a real mess about this for a long long time) couldn't be there to see him. DS1 put his arm around and said 'Sorry dad, I'd have loved to meet him too'. H had tears in his eyes when he told me.

Sorry to blether on, I guess it doesn't mean much to anyone, but I am just so happy.

Hi Orm. Been wondering how you are.

That does sound like progress for them both. Glad it made you happy.

Always good to hear about a dad and DC getting on better. DS sounds a star and as it means a lot to you, glad you're happy.

Thank you.

Just wish we had fixed things between us before it got as far as it did.
