Is this a red flag?

One of my DF has been married 8 yrs and has two kids. Her DH is prone to moods and is known to strop off at the least thing but now he is crazy.

Yesterday, they were out with the kids at the beach when their ds (6) started to play up - screaming and whinging. He just walked off and didn't come home for 4 hours. He would not answer his phone or texts. Eventually he came home and is still not talking to DF as if it is her fault.

He likes to go hiking and goes away most weekends. Used to be just Sat or Sun, now both days. He often just decides he will go out and acts like he is single man, and just goes.

He constantly whinges about his children and spends most nights in the garage fixing up his car. But in past month or so, his behaviour has become erratic to the point of ridiculousness. He spits his dummy out at the slightest thing, seems to resent DC and then blames everything on DF.

I am convinced he is having an affair as he has got so much worse in the past few months.

Never mind the possibility of an affair.

He's an arse.

If you were your friend, I'd advise you to let him have the single life.
Or to leave for the weekend and leave him holding the children without any notice.

It's not a red flag, it's a full-blown portrait of an arse.

She will not leave :( It is not even worth suggesting. Before DC came along I used to be jealous of how besotted he was with her.

I know the feeling.
She may not be ready yet.
Just keep supporting her.

He basically cannot be arsed with his kids. Don't know why some people have them :(
