Anyone got exciting plans for this evening? Am off to see some 3 friends in a show. A show I really don't like. And it's going to be rather 'village hall'. Now don't get me wrong, I am not up my own arse and there is a LOT of very good non-professional stuff out there. But this is a new group and my friends have warned me that it's going to be a bit grim and not worth the ticket price.

They're not even particularly close friends. Still, live entertainment and gets me out of the flat. I never mind being in on a Sunday night but get antsy if I am in on a Saturday night - feel like it's a waste somehow, but sometimes can't be helped when it's just you to amuse.

blimey, new thread already!

will try and catch up on the last one at some point, was just coming on to share my Shock that I've just been chatted up and asked on a date via Facebook by someone I used to go to school with!

Hahaha!!

All's good Lubey (hope you're doing ok too btw) went to the pub last night (where men kept trying to talk to me! the cheek of it!) got slightly drunk so have been mostly lying down to recover from a hangover today...

School bloke is alright in a rough builder sort of way but not a patch on the lovely Cuthbert. He's about to go away on hols for the best part of a month, so if it's all gone shit shaped with Lovely C by the time he comes back (which knowing my luck it will have done) at least I've got a fall back plan :)

Am also staying in, have a fire lit, and a dog with belly ache because he's had a big bone.

Go Velvet! Getting chatted up in the pub and on fb? And turning them all down because you have the lovely Cuthbert? Can't be bad.

Place marking.

I'm in on my own again. It's getting ridiculous and I need to arrange stuff at the weekends. Feeling very lonely.

Velvet, I went on 2 dates that I can remember via people from the very distance past finding out I was single. Neither went anywhere, not that I wanted them to as I wasn't interested but I do find people from the past just as flaky in the present.

Still nice to know you have a back up plan and of course, my experience is just that.

Ike, look forward to hearing all about your date when it comes off.

Velvet yeah I'm not too bad considering... and as usual this thread is keeping me occupied/sane/etc

KinNora I really like the sound of your 65 year old friend from the last thread...sadly I dont think there's much chance of me looking 45 when I'm 65 (unless I can come up with the ££ for a full face lift)

how does she do it??

Report
Scrazy · 16/02/2013 17:17

I've never met anyone 65 that looked 20 years younger tbh, except people on TV who have had surgery. I'm not doubting you btw Kin.

Velvet, you are clearly man-nip at the moment. You sound in good form.

Tonight I shall be mainly making fish cakes and Thai green curry. I am rawk 'n' roll incarnate.

thats kinda what I was thinking Scrazy, from late 40's onwards facial tissues start to sag and by mid 60's everyone will have some signs of aging, even a face lift will normally only knock off 10 years (?)

KinNora · 16/02/2013 17:25

Mercury, me neither, I might start doing a Marlene Dietrich and gather my spare face in pleats under my hair.

Scrazy, I think a lot of it is the way she dresses, has her haircut and her attitude etc. She has had a boob job but nothing done to her face as far as I know. I luffs her.

I have spent the day at a friends yard, teaching kids to ride ponies.

I am riding tomorrow Smile

Making flapjacks tonight. Extra thick and gooey.

Exciting stuff Hmm

OhWesternWind · 16/02/2013 17:26

I'm on my own tonight again again again ....

Fed up with it but no local friends, no money for babysitter, no social life for the next five years or so until I can leave the dcs in all alone. I feel very lonely too Scrazy. I text and FB my friends but it's not the same. Sometimes you just want someone there.

Bloody hell, I'd be happy to look 45 when I'm 42 ...

Report
VelvetSpoon · 16/02/2013 17:27

Flipper, not entirely sure I have Cuthbert yet really but hopefully it's heading that way though :)

Scrazy, I honestly wouldn't be disappointed if nothing happened with school bloke, if I go (and its at least a month off and a big if) I'd be going more for the chat about school, old friends, hometown etc than anything else! I can barely remember him from school, and he clearly doesnt remember me in the slightest (but to be fair I never spoke to boys at school and didnt wear false eyelashes and half a tonne of make up so I'm not surprised!)

Grin at man nip Kin! I think it's the men are like buses theory, years in the dating wilderness and now all these not particularly inspiring offers!

Fishcakes and thai green curry sounds fab. I have to go to the supermarket shortly or we will be eating cupasoup and stale bread....

Are there any dates tonight? Or are we all staying in with nice food? apart from me if I dont get my arse in gear soon cos Morrisons will be shut

I like how the titles of these dating threads have changed from long and buoyantly witty to the more weary 'Here we go again' Smile

Tamoo - sometimes you just have to get the thread up there quickly because it's so busy! I didn't have time to think of anything more appropriate. I'm just feeling chuffed to be the one to start of the 42nd thread, my life long ambition realised!!

as I recall Tamoo there were whispers that posters connected to antics mentioned in the thread titles were somehow 'jinxed'

we got a bit superstitious and decided to go for plain titles Wink
(or am I thinking of something else entirely Confused )

Scrazy · 16/02/2013 17:40

I thought someone pointed out that the in joke titles annoyed people on mumsnet so stick to plain titles.

Also some of the stuff in the old titles brought undesirables, that how we all ended up on here Grin.
