Been with a guy 4 months, realised today that I do love him.

I'm a bit drunk - won't see him again until Monday, he's just sent me a sweet text wishing me sweet dreams. I typed out "night night honey, love ya xxx" but didn't send. We havnt done the 'love' thing yet.

Should I send it whlst I can blame it on the booze if it goes tits up?

Send it as is, bur without the 'love ya'. The honey and the xxx are enough.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

No. NO no no no no no no no no.

NO.

And if you didn't hear me before, NO!

Drunken texts are not a good thing, no matter what the subject. If you feel it, say it but not by text and not when you think you might need to backtrack and blame the drink.

I'm sure he loves you too Smile

Nooooooo, never ever say anything like that for the 1st time when drunk. Its such a bad idea and you will realise it in the morning when its too late.

No, never ever text 'I love you' type messages when drunk and also stay away from facebook < speaks from experience >

tallwivglasses · 18/11/2012 00:07

I didn't even need to read the text, just the title. DON'T DO IT. Because he may not answer and then you'll feel shit or maybe he's just fallen asleep or perhaps you put him off, so maybe you'd better just drunkenly call him blahblahblah...

Step away from the phone. Grin

No because then you will spend all night saying "oooooooh he's not texted back straightaway .". And you will overthink it.

Did you diva thread earlier on just realising you loved him? Just enjoy it. It will all slot into place.

If someone said "Love ya" to me, I'd think they'd gone mad. Not with the loving but with the "ya" business. Wtf is that all about?

Personally I think it's better to wait until it's said to you. You get a better idea of whether it's meant. But in any case, don't say it when you're drunk!

I really hope she's fallen asleep in her clothes with her phone in her hand and hasn't sent it.

She'll be waking up to a rousing MN chorus of Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I bet you sent it already..... Grin

Let's analyse...

night night = naff, that is what you say to a four year old
honey = also naff, and a bit gooey
love ya = much worse than I love you and a flippant way to break the news to you partner that you have serious feelings for him.
xxx = that bit is OK Grin

So, yeah, you should probably send it. Smile

C'mon Alex - Yes, say it. Wholeheartedly. When you're sober.
