Been married 5 years, have 2 Dc's, both quite young. We love each other very much, but really could do with help on communication. We are both argumentative and want to work on this so if anyone can recommend a book that helps you communicate better that would be great.

Just marking my place for a reply as I'd like to read it too.

I've tried some of the more general strategies. But any specifics would be a help. [returns to lurking]

The 7 principles of making marriage work by John Gottman is a great read. Neither DH or I are particularly good at communicating and guilty of the faults highlighted in the book (to help you address them). Also has lots of enjoyable exercises to use to help you stay close to each other. Here it is: www.amazon.co.uk/Seven-Principles-Making-Marriage-Work/dp/0752837265/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309463167&sr=8-1&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21
