Mine went to work at 6.30am (waking me up in the process), then straight off to play cricket all day. Kids haven't seen him at all today. His loss, we've had a nice time.

Oh Sad

DP couldn't be further from deadbeat - but I know plenty that are. Makes life bloody hard work.

Did he not want to do something as a family?

Apparently not. To be fair, he only gets to play cricket about twice a year as the rest of the time is coaching at a school - hence having to work silly hours at weekends. This weekend he worked 7am-8pm Saturday, 7am-11am Sunday. no extra pay, and will be doing very long hours all week. So I don't begrudge him his game of cricket today, but am blardy knackered from being home alone with the DC all weekend, most weekends at the mo.

He doesn't sound like a deadbeat to me at all.

No, sorry, I didn't mean the 'deadbeat' thing - just wanted the OP to know she wasn't the alone in enterntaining the children all day.

Why did you take them out with you all day anyway?

My husbands a dead beat (but thats just being polite lol)! He keeps walking out on me and my 3 year old daughter and not answering his phone and not coming back till the morning so he can get ready for work. When he gets back he has a wash, gets changed and then goes out again. Needless to say he came home today to find his clothes in bin liners and ive chucked him out!!! Happy Fathers Day my arse!!! Oh yeah forgot to mention that im 17weeks pregnant as well!!
Yep I think I married a total wanker (the biggest wanker in the world) but at least I did it so one of you didnt end up with him lol xxxx

perhaps we ought to tattoo their foreheads with "mumsnetreject" so we don't accidently pick another one up...

I'm all for tattooed foreheads. If we could see what we were actually dealing with when we met people it would be great.
