Hello Smile

Welcome to The Brave Babes Battle Bus.

This is a quest full of Babes, all fighting to remain sober, cut down or are somewhere in between right now.

You ticket to travel is free, it won't expire, and the Bus will always be here, even if there are days when you are not. So come say hi.

I'm Mouse. I have a thing for cheese and vodka, not together, well, not always! Grin

Here is a LINK to the last thread, where you can read all of the previous threads and the journeys so far.

Hiya, I'm Bafana
Been sober since 24 Nov 2010, with the help and encouragment of the wonderful babes and Mif here and AA.

Glad to be here, and over the moon to be sober Grin

obrigada · 10/05/2011 12:45

Hi everyone, I am Obrigada :)

upsylazy · 10/05/2011 12:49

Hi babes, day 9 for me which is utterly amazing. However, am in a bit of a dilemma as tis my birthday today. I did make a written promise to abstain for the whole of May but had actually forgotten about my birthday (as you tend to when you get to my age). I think I'll just see how I feel and try not to beat myself up if I drink tonight but get straight back on track tomorrow. Silver, I was seeing an NHS psychiatrist for alcohol probs (am still on her books but haven't been for a while) and she did mention about Naltrexone and said she did prescribe it for people. Maybe it's getting easier over here. In the words of Mr Grace, "You're all doing very well" - definitely showing my age now Blush

Purple - Your 'MO' is very familiar. I take it that you have namechanged? You also seem to appear, as if by magic, with the same advice and info time and again. We don't know much about you Smile

Silver - I'm so very pleased to see you posting here. I know that we talked off board about TSM and I know that this is a HUGE step for you to take, going public as it were, because you didn't and still don't want to give people 'false hope', and for that, I love you. Grin

I agree with venus and others' who say what works for YOU is the path you should follow' but I also like that you are trying a way that not many people are aware of, and I feel honoured that you are happy to share that with us.

Hopefully, you will be able to post more often and keep us all up to speed with where you are at and how you are feeling. Fab to see you back sweets xx

thurso - bad night as per, more vomitting and he had a terrible fall this morning, bloodying his nose. Sad He's asleep now. Hope the bed is okay and the men have done a great job! Grin

qo - who are you? I mean really? You have the same posting name of a Brave Babe that came here a few weeks back..... she was very upset, broken and scared of what her life had become........ have you seen her?

No? GOOD! Wow lady, you are so very different to what you were a few weeks ago. You really are a whole new person, such a smilley post this morning and the fact that you are planning you days in advance, a big shop tomorrow, is awesome. You should be super proud of yourself for getting to where you are. You rock! Smile

Obrigada - sorry that you have slipped a little lovely, how are things with your mum? xx

algeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! - Yay! Fab to see you are still around. Keep popping in and letting us know how you are.

bafana - thank you for filling the other thread, you beat me to it! How are you lovely?

venus - wise words as always, I love reading your posts, they are so strong, you feather my wings. Smile

Hello and good afternoon!
Happy Birthday Upsy, have a wonderful one!

Venus I am the queen of procrastinators! I have a 2000 word report to get done by Friday, and this is my only day to do it, so far I have......come on here, hung the washing out, emptied the dishwasher, tidied up (a little bit!), come on here, read some of my book for my report, come on here, let the bed men in, come on here, gone up to admire the bed, done 200 words, come on here, had a lovely tuna sandwich for lunch, gone out to see if the washing is dry, come on here.......

I am having a lovely day, though Grin

Mousie poor old Nemo, I hope he has a good sleep to recuperate, bless him {{hugs}}

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 10/05/2011 14:47

i have just looked at the TSM link and its very interesting! silver, please let us all know how you get on with it! - i particuarly liked the 'explanation' of alcholism, its a mind set that i think i can identify with, this 'learned drinking', i know my drinking has escalated over the years, i certainly didnt start out as a 'heavy' drinker!, in fact 2 bottles of babycham would have me bouncing off the walls when i was a teenager - one thing i did notice was that AA was not dismissed, it was just mentioned as another method for 'some' people to use!

i also agree with mouse!, its nice to have people come on here and tell us about different methods and self-help sites etc - it would be nice if you introduced yourself though and told us how you came to hear about these things and if you are on these programmes and what your experience of them is! - we all know we have a couple of 'axe-grinders' on here!, they are tedious to say the least!

jesuswhatnext · 10/05/2011 14:57

have a nice little rest isindi! 'servicing' other babes dhs indeed! Grin you are indeed ill! Grin

Can't speak for Ma Inde, but you're on Grin

venusandmars · 10/05/2011 15:11

JWN on some of the tsm forums there is very heavy AA bashing (usually of the american type of group), and I can well imagine that some AA groups would completely rubbish the Sinclair method because it does not require total abstinence. Personally, I just really hate any group that rubbishes a different approach, and thankfully on here we don't get much of that.

Isindie hope you're feeling better soon, glad to see that you haven't lost your wicked wit.

venusandmars · 10/05/2011 15:12

You'll see that I'm still not getting on with my work - just can't be arsed really, not even the things where there are deadlines. I'll regret it later though.
