Relationships

what was the worst thing anyone ever said to you...

...in the context of a relationship breakdown..?

mine was, finding out my ex had been screwing around behind my back, having a huge fight and his parting shot was, 'no man will ever want you now! i mean, single parent - three kids!' Hmm

I'm pretty sure he isn't the biggest c*nt out there! :) (and i do know it wasn't true!) But i really think it's cathartic to write it down...

alternatively, what was the worst thing you ever said? ( I of course, am a paragon of virtue and have never said anything mean or cheap!)

:) mine is similar as far as I can remember, when I kicked ex out after finding out he had got a 19 yr old girl pregnant..he moved into her's (same day) and sent me a facebook message saying 'I'm glad I'm not with you,I have something young'..then some filth about my privates...Hmm. That was pretty nasty,he later said he was acting from 'hurt' at me rejecting him.NICE!!!

oh yes,and he added that i would turn out bitter and twisted and no one would want me,'just like your mother'.

That he'd have stayed with me if I'd been willing to try anal sex.

Well rid there!

I've been saved anything nasty by ex partners, but my first boyfriend's brother once told me that "he can do better than you anyway".

I was very hurt as I still loved the ex boyfriend very much but time has taught me to ignore this kind of moron.

Otherwise worse comment - from a client a work - "I hope your kids get leukemia and die". No reply required really.

glitzy - he was an extremely unpleasant man with no idea how to conduct himself.

He wanted me to break the law in order to do what he was demanding of me in my job. Naturally, I refused - he then saw fit to express his good wishes upon my off-spring.

I had to have a good walk around the block to cool off. Colleagues who witnessed it were appalled and were lovely to me.

We refused to have any further dealings with this individual.

God, some of these are vile Sad
When I was 27, the 35 year old man I was dating told me that he'd said to his friends that I was only 26 in case they took the piss. He then tried to make it better by reassuring me that he had "had older". He also used to say that women over 30 were dried out, used up has-beens. Lovely!

Not in the context of relationship breakup, but my longterm 'stalker' last year sent some vile emails. I was mainly able to laugh at the stuff about me being 'fat' or 'single' or 'lesbian' or indeed 'stinky' and even the stuff about hoping my DS died of cancer or that I did tended to make me think 'What a tosser you are, stalker' - the stuff that actually stung was when he started ranting on about me being a professional failure and despised by all my business associates (he helpfully CC'd the emails to them as well. Which at least meant they all rang me up to console me and say what a knob he was).

Exdp had come to pick up some of his stuff and he picked up DD, then about 2 months old and said right in her face, 'you're fucking ugly, just like your mother'.

Ex told me when I was pregnant that it was too late for me to leave him, and if I tried he would come after me and stab me in the stomach and cut my throat.

Which he denies saying of course.....

I was in a relationship when ex 'd'p at the time who I had nursed through a terribe stroke for 4 years said 'get off me, you turn me off' when we were doing the deed.
I was hurt and humiliated beyond belief, this was pre baby, probably a size 8/10, 5ft 11 with big boobs in my 20's. (he was only slightly older, had stroke very young)
I still cant have sex with the lights on to this day, still the same stats as well! Bastard.

Several years after we broke up, exp (who I was with between the ages of 16 and 19) told me that he would never have formed a cannabis habit if I'd put my foot down about it in the beginning... Erm, hello, he was 24 years old when we started dating?!

"You'll start looking your age and no man will want you" from my exH (10 yrs my senior).

"Your memory is faulty, you should see a doctor" from same exH, who was an expert at gaslighting as well as being an all-round knob who swore at his own children.

E.G. exH to 9yo DD when she knocked him into him on the stairs and he spilled a little wine from his glass "You fucking idiot".

"all your friends think you're pretty, it's just I don't"

"I always assumed I'd marry someone foreign and more interesting"

(after taking pictures of me) " oh, you look attractive in these, funny I don't remember you being as attractive as that"

"you're not good enough for me, you'll never be as clever or as attractive as me. I will succeed, you won't"

All ex-husband. Im sure noone is surprised he is my ex.

God I forgot the worst one. After cheating on me "I spent all night in the pub kissing her. I couldn't have done that with you as people would have seen me."

Really bitter and awful break up from long term partner and he said to me, "I won't forget these years and I think we were happy for most of it. Trouble was, I was interested in your friend and not you so I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did". We were together over 10 years and I was absolutely devastated and felt that those long years were a complete waste of time. I never did know why he chased me if it was my older friend he was interested in! Anyway, he's long gone now.

It has to be an ex boyfriend saying, 'This is not what it looks like' ......

...as I found him on top of my supposed 'friend' in my spare bedroom.

Yes it was every inch what it looked like Angry
