not that reliable - think now they only recommend it if having another kid wouldn't be a disaster.

I got put off when 2 women at work tried it, of course both were pregnant within a few months.

it claims to be 94% effective on the packet what do you fellow mn's think??

think we worked it out it was a 1 in 16 chance of failing so if 16 women used it for a year one would get pregnant (is that right?)

one of the women had a green light in the morning, had sex then had a red light the next morning so must have ovulated in between I think

I know someone who worked on the original launch as a contraceptive. She got pregnant using it.

TBH I wouldn't touch it as a contraceptive but would use it as an aid to conception. But I have never tried it and it probably works for some.

I used persona. I now have a gorgeous 4.5 year old son (-:

It is probably fine if you have regular cycles but any variation forget it.

I used Persona to time ovulation to get a girl after 2 boys. (Hazel-Chesterman Phillips method.) Got another boy!! Love him anyway! Did find it a bit unreliable, and there would have been at least one occasion where if I had been using it as a contraceptive that it would have failed.

It's not effective. Don't even use it if you think you hardly ever have sex and the likelihood of getting pregnant is very low anyway! It's also extremely expensive.

jambo - not now as i'm PG, but will be using it once baby's born, it's v v good I think - my cycles didn't change at all so was easy for me to use - if u're cycles change thou might not be worth the risk if you def don't want to get PG.

Hi

I used it for 2 years before getting PG with DS1 when I wanted to, used it for 18 months until deciding wanted to get PG again.

I have very regular cycle, followed it regligiously, and used alternative on red days, HOWEVER it wouldn't have been the end of the world if I'd have got pregnant when using it.

Don't want any more now and DH has been snipped

I don't think it would be the end of the world for me to be honest and I like the idea of it being a completley natural contraceptive, I also have regular cycles so it could hopefully prove successful? is it best to use this method if you have sex a lot?

From memory out of a 28 day cycle I probably had about 10 red days a month - lucky i didn't get confused with my slimming world diet

If getting pregnant would be a disaster, I wouldn't reccomend it!
I used it for 2 years, when I was younger & ended up getting pregnant while using it.

I've used it. I used it for 2 years as a contraceptive and when I became pg it was because I chose to ignore the red light!!

My friend did. She's now the proud mum of a DS!

me and my dh will probably want another baby in perhaps the next 2 years so do you think it may be worth the risk?

We use it and like the naturalness of it. I have 2 sons and used it to get preg too. I do have a regular cycle as others have mentioned. I think persona is like any form of contraception you have to use it exactly as instructed.
