Can someone please tell me what the Emma/Ed/Will storyline is/was about? I can't quite work it out.

And is there anything else vital I need to know at this point (oh it's so nice, haven't listened for about 4 years and I still recognise ALL the characters - like putting on my comfy slippers!)

ok. are you sitting comfortably?..... then i'll begin.

emma was married to will. she copped off with ed 5 mins before her wedding.... but went through with it anyway..... when her baby (geooooorgy) was born there ensued a paternity hoo haa when the truth came out..... turned out will was the father.... anyway, she left will for a life of sin in a caravan with ed. then they split. he went off the rails, living on streets and junkie (for about 5 mins)..... things got back on even keel. emma and will getting on well as parents to baby. will starts to hope they'll get back together when she announces that she and ed are having another go at things.... will had to go off to gloucester as cant bear it....

ok? enjoy.

They are all just about equally annoying imo! I would just add that Emma has been living with her mum and dad in Carter Towers. She left the caravan because she decided it wasn't a safe place for George. Susan and Neil (especially Neil) weren't willing to let Ed within a mile of the place and it was after that they split up and he did a bunk. Incidentally since coming back he has had a relationship with Fallon which was true love etc etc - until it wasn't and he dumped her I think? The bbc have a very good Archers website page where you can get plot summaries etc going back to whenever.
