(3 Posts)I'm looking for a live radio station, in the West Midlands at around 3 to 6 am.
Traffic and travel information a welcome bonus.
Chatty presenter - male or female doesn't matter
Live - with time checks and interaction with the audience,
MOR music, not necessarily 'old' but not Radio 1.
Radio 2 is recorded until 5am, then it's Vanessa Feltz, who I can't stand
Radio 4 is worthy World Service until about 0530
Radio WM is Five Live until 5am and then it's a lame duck who drives me up the wall.
Free Radio is on automatic, with recorded intros and little else but track after track and adverts
Ditto Greatest Hits - minimal 'DJ' input
Hits Radio - same
As most radio shows become downloadable podcasts, the time checks have disappeared
I'm stuck
I like listening to music, but can lull myself to sleep if the noise doesn't break up the music with human input.
I like news and current affairs, but Times and LBC are too London-centric.
Radio 4 after 5.15 a.m.
You could switch over from R2 at 5 am so only have a tiny bit or WS.
I associate WS with insomnia, so I don't like it.
Don't like R2 or what I have heard when I have tried it.
I find listening digitally confusing because if the connection breaks, it picks up where it left off, so time checks are late.
I can tell you the traffic and travel information now, if you like. “There are no traffic problems as it is 3 o’clock in the morning.”
